If you like musicals obviously!
I love Hamilton, followed by les mis and wicked. Also going to see jamie this year.
Hamilton with the original cast on Disney is just incredible.

Love Les Mis so that's up there. Also loved Hamilton but Dear Evan Hansen was a surprise to me and I absolutely LOVED it.

ChiaraRimini · 30/04/2023 20:57

I should have said we have already seen Six and Matilda, as well as Wicked -other recs for musicals for teen DDs greatly appreciated!

PartingGift · 30/04/2023 20:59

My top 3 would be:

  1. Waitress
  2. Legally Blonde
  3. Kinky Boots

Very funny and feel good, would love to see them again. I love musicals and Waitress was the first one I saw after lockdown and it was AMAZING.

I've only seen Six and last night saw the Lion King in Sunderland live.

Loved, loved, loved six. got tickets for this year too. Don't think I'd be bothered about watching The Lion King again.

Got tickets booked for Aladdin, Heathers and Wicked also so far. Got my eye on Hamilton now that they've added more places when tickets become available.

I'd love to see Phantom and Oliver! though.

The King and I. I always liked the film and saw it live recently.

So did I. Its stunning.

Also Fiddler on the Roof

Comefromaway · 30/04/2023 21:28

I don’t think I need to say what my favourite musical is.

(my previous username also referenced Hamilton)

aNewYorkerInLondon · 30/04/2023 21:28

So many of the ones you've mentioned, especially Chicago and A Chorus Line. I love the films Singing in the Rain and An American in Paris with Gene Kelly.

However, as a movie musical from my childhood, I'll always have a soft spot for Newsies. ❤️

Comefromaway · 30/04/2023 21:32

Also as a teenager I was obsessed with Miss Saigon

Comefromaway · 30/04/2023 21:33

The stage version of Newsies (both the broadway one with Jeremy Jordan that was filmed & the current Troubadour run are fantastic, much better than the original film.

We were really surprised how good and engaging Waitress was

I also love the Rocky Horror Picture show

Jayneisagirlsname · 30/04/2023 21:39

Six is great - loved it when I saw it and would absolutely see it again!

It's not a musical, though there is singing in it, but Pride & Prejudice Sort Of is incredible- everyone should see it honestly, buy tickets now!

apapuchi · 30/04/2023 21:40

Joseph, Oliver!, Annie 😍

Am prepared to be flamed here… but I just don’t get Hamilton. I don’t understand the fuss, haven’t gotten swept up in the music… it’s just.. meh.
I LOVE miss Saigon, phantom, and JCS.. and worked at les Mis for a wee bit, so that’s a fav too…
but Hamilton can get in the bin! 😂

You won't be disappointed. Honestly I sound like something out of their PR camp but it was so well done!

tweetypi · 30/04/2023 21:59

Les Mia, Phantom and Billy Elliott.

Also really enjoyed Jamie and Wicked.

Second everything @MuffinToSeeHere says about Come From Away- it is amazing.
You can watch it on Apple TV I think, although seeing it in the theatre is such a visceral experience.
I am the proud owner of a pair of CFA socks and a “Me and The Sky” t shirt - I keep hoping they will draw a fellow fan out of the woodwork- no luck as yet 😁

RampantIvy · 30/04/2023 22:08

Don't get the Hamilton love at all.
Loved Blood Brothers
I really enjoyed Kinky Boots and Fishermen's Friends, and I will always have a soft spot for Oliver.

I'm like this with my personalised Lyle quote tote bag. Alas no fans have commented so far but I live in hope. I bet your socks an t-shirt are awesome and I'd definitely come and talk to you if I saw them and that's coming from someone who actively tends to avoid other people. 😅
