Anybody else have a word they can’t stand?

Two words I hate for reasons unknown to me - moist and buggy. No idea why.

By contrast, I love ‘bumble bee’ and again I have no justification.

Surely I’m not the only oddball who has this irrational like/dislike of words?

I was reading the travelling in London thread and becoming unreasonably disgusted with all the reference to beeping in and beeping out on public transport. Just sounds so childish.

Similarly, I hate the word ‘toot’.

‘Obligated’ - it’s everywhere. WTF happened to ‘obliged’?

Gotten. Drives me mad. But meant to be old English so it's ok

Moist doesn't bother me at all. Neither does hubby or gusset.

The ones I really hate are Host/Hosting, Bits, Life Admin, Mental Load, Pack Up, and School Run.

Deep down, i don't think it really is.

It's just another one of those words that people say they hate, it's kind of pop culture, now.
You can set your watch by them:
Moist, gusset, panties.

There's a name to describe it, that another poster told me about (on the last time this thread was started!).
But, i can't remember what it's called.
It's an interesting phenomenon.

Still not sure what the issue is. Is wet vagina or damp vagina not the same? Sticky vagina sounds a whole lot less pleasing. But no one says sticky is an ick word.

We all hate moist!
Mine are

Tub
Platter
Side ( rather than side dishes)
Describing food as 'dirty' - Dirty fries
Kids or kiddies

Baffled.
