For me it’s the utterly obscure baby names. We’ve all seen them and I’m quite sure nobody uses them in real life. Yet on MN, it’s apparently standard.

Honourable mention to the 50% of posters whose husbands are earning upwards of £100K too.

Ripping people apart over something tiny

Are the women who earn over this ok?

Getting therapy, particularly family therapy or therapy for eating too much. Because of course everyone can access and afford this.

Dogs are the devil's spawn, so many dog haters on here.

ItsThePlayBusDingDing · 31/03/2023 21:35

Competetive undereating, 'massive' salads, and 'greedy' husbands who eat 3 slices of pizza, or 2 burgers at a bbq.

Kanaloa · 31/03/2023 21:37

Being terrified of normal food items - ie scornfully ripping apart someone’s meal plan because it’s disgusting that they would feed their kids a banana, it’s basically empty sugar and they should be having lightly toasted homegrown seeds. When in real life most kids get a ham or cheese sandwich, a penguin or a Kit Kat, and maybe a tangerine/apple/banana and that is absolutely fine.

Also asking ‘school mums.’ So somebody will post ‘oh I can’t get anyone to pick up my kids while I have a doctors appointment’ and it will be ‘just ask one of the school mums.’ As if it’s normal to approach people you don’t know asking them for favours. But on the flip side if a school mum asks you to pick her child up she’s a cheeky fucker who is trying to use you for childcare.

"Have you had his hearing checked?"

BreviloquentBastard · 31/03/2023 21:38

Normal human foods like cereal being seen as devil food and you're the worst most neglectful parent ever if you would even DREAM of feeding them to your kids.

You forgot the hollow legged kids so skinny you can see their ribs (always have to say you can see their ribs) who can put away ten tonnes of food per day. Plus obviously the ‘tall, strapping’ teen boys who eat a loaf of bread with every meal. And they play rugby too!

"Link". "Statistics please".

No, this is a forum, if you disagree, you disagree, and I'm not drugging through to find links etc when it's something from 20 years ago and if you're that bothered then Google is your friend.

Being a recruiter for a 'large company' and so having expert knowledge of what gcses/a levels are acceptable.

TheOldLadyOfThreadneedleStreet · 31/03/2023 21:40

washing bedding, towels, clothes every time you use them once. I simply don’t think there are enough hours in the day to do this for a family of 4.

30g of rice is a huge portion

If you worry about anything, ever: have you been to the GP about your anxiety?

Girasoli · 31/03/2023 21:41

Most of the small DC I know have "mumsnet names" 😁

I think mumsnetters worry too much about protein...I once read an article (possibly in a dentist waiting room) about how most DC eat too much protein and wished I could post it on mumsnet to see what happened!

Nobody on Mumsnet discusses, they confront.

Wondering how they will cope on £150k a year with only £5k a month left for extras. It's a hard life for some.

RoyGBivisacolorfulman · 31/03/2023 21:49

They all have perfect teenagers whose worst offence is leaving a wet towel on the floor.

TulipsLilacs · 31/03/2023 21:49

I always imagine people who pick names that seem old fashioned are cool North Londoners and we'll all be copying then in about 10 years.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 31/03/2023 21:49

The response to any childcare-related issue of “just get a nanny”, like that’s something normal people can afford.

Last time I checked, a F/T nanny cost around £40k a year. That’s more than my (and most people’s) net salary.

Nivgor · 31/03/2023 21:50

Bulking things out with lentils. Sounds deeply unpleasant (and gassy).

Slim active teens who eat like horses.

Living semi-rural. I don't even know what the fuck that means and it annoys me.

tsmainsqueeze · 31/03/2023 21:51

The ones who eat 'picky bits ' for tea.

ItsThePlayBusDingDing · 31/03/2023 21:51

"Just take in ironing or do some dog walking" when someone is absolutely skint.

As if getting the insurance and equipment and advertising needed is a viable option for someone who can't afford to eat.
