DH to be doesn’t want a wedding ring.. at all?

Anyone roses DH not wear a wedding ring?

DP doesn’t want one at all, we get married this year. At first I thought it was because he works a manual labour job; so suggested a silicon ring and perhaps have a metal actual wedding ring put up sage and wear occasionally?

but he doesn’t want one at all and that’s thrown me a little. I mean, realistically it’s just a ring - but I liked the thought of seeing him with a ring on, that symbolisation that we are married maybe?

or am I just being silly?

If he wears rings on other fingers, YANBU.

If he just doesn't like wearing rings (plenty of people find them uncomfortable), YABU.

I agree with this

DH and I have rings. We don't always wear them and sometimes forget about them. We take them off a lot for work.

My DH wears his I don't wear mine haven't really done since having our DCs I will occasionally stick it on if we are attending any events but I'm not really one for jewellery.
My Dad has never had a wedding ring and it's never bothered my mum.
I guess each to their own.

Mine doesn’t wear jewellery. He has an Apple watch but apart from that it wouldn’t cross his mind to wear jewellery. A ring would look very odd on him. It’s just not who he is.

SixPenny · 22/03/2023 22:25

Mine has never had one. The only jewelry he had ever worn is his wristwatch. I never even though to ask him if he wanted one.
My dad has never had one either, nor my brother's.

My DH didn’t want a wedding ring, I minded that he didn’t want to wear one. In the end he agreed to have one because it mattered so much to me, and as soon as he agreed to, I found I no longer minded, so he doesn’t!

I find this thread so interesting as the overwhelming point of view is that men don't wear them and a lot of women are ambivalent. Yet I don't know anyone who doesn't wear one, who is married. 🤷 it is like brexit all over again.

DH doesn’t have a ring. He doesn’t wear any jewellery including a watch. Why. Waste money? I can go for days without wearing mine too. Still together over 20 years.

His finger. Fair enough

As a single women it seems like practically every man has a wedding ring on-and now judging by these comments the ones who don’t have one on are probably married too. Are there ANY single men anywhere lol 😤🤣🤣

My father didn't wear one, but he was a surgeon and maybe not that practical. He was devoted to my mother and they almost made it to 50 years when he passed away. My husband didn't wear one with his first (15 years long) marriage, but wanted to when he married me, and I must admit to feeling a bit smug about this!

ChristmasKraken · 23/03/2023 11:18

My DH doesn't wear one. He didn't have one for the ceremony either, instead he had a wedding watch! Registrar was happy for it to be part of the ceremony, said it was actually really common. It just made more sense to us for the money to be spent on something he actually wanted and would wear.
