Clemmie Hooper Facing Midwifery Misconduct Hearing

Nedmund · 01/03/2023 13:36

I've not yet seen any other threads on this.

It's not yet clear why there's a heating but it would be interesting to read the decision by the Nursing and Midwifery Council when it's posted online. The hearing ends 8th March.

I'm wondering if the racism she trolled with played out in her work?

I’d be curious to know what the other midwives thought of her.

I can hazard a guess!

mummywithtwokidsplusdog · 02/03/2023 14:10

I’d forgotten about this… absolutely awful. Racism is horrific and I can’t imagine how she can care for woman with that mind set?! In my opinion her husband must have know as otherwise how on earth could they have stayed together if he didn’t support what she was doing?

Or they see themselves as a ‘brand’ and more valuable with a united front.

But yeah, I don’t believe for one second he was ‘shocked’ or upset about what she said about him. She was just trying to throw people off the scent so she was free to abuse the others.

Leftoverssandwich · 02/03/2023 14:19

Definitely agree. The ‘twat’ comment was never real. I imagine any strain in their marriage came from the fall out rather than her original behaviour. He has always been very defensive and touchy about any criticism, however mild or constructive. He feels entitled to move through life utterly unencumbered by challenge.

Moonicorn · 02/03/2023 14:26

The twat comment was only made to make it look like it couldn’t be her

TrixiesPillboxHat · 02/03/2023 14:36

What I don’t understand about her being identified on tattle is why anyone started wondering if it was her in the first place. Surely there are hundreds of posters on tattle posting similar shit, why would someone have started paying attention to her in particular and start suspecting something?

Jooliusreezer · 02/03/2023 15:00

Anyone see the video on the husband’s page about the scalding incident?

Why do they have a camera set up there, filming? It is to continuously capture ‘content’?

Or was it a fake incident? To try to bolster Clemmie’s image for ‘doing the right thing’?

Location is not identifiable information under gdpr.
Name/ address etc but literally 1000s of people could tag themselves at a holiday location at once.

I more meant that I was surprised a website with anonymity would out one of their users in that way, by confirming where they appeared to be posting from.

hothands · 02/03/2023 15:19

She didn't go on Tattle to defend herself. She went on there to slag off other influencers, like anyone else who joins Tattle does. Then when her thread got created, she popped in with the odd comment under her pseudonym like she doesn't see herself as an influencer, she was more celebrity aligned.

For the poster who asked, search anyalovesrose which was MOD's username. I'm not sure if the threads or her posts are still standing, but she was on 2 or 3 of the mumfluencer threads.

I don’t think pretending to be someone else to ‘defend yourself’ online is actually ‘unhinged’, it’s something I imagine happens on here all the time! It’s more sneaky/defensive/overly invested in whatever some ransoms are saying about you.

Agree it's not unhinged. It's just incredibly conceited of her. How dare other people not worship at the altar of her sheer gorgeousness. How dare other people not be profusely grateful that she chose a freebie holiday to St Lucia so she could show them how beautiful it all was, when they were unlikely to ever go there themselves.

Standbyguest · 02/03/2023 17:05

I remember when she 'asked her followers' which washing machine brand was the best - AEG or Miele, and conveniently tagged both brands. A few weeks later, guess who had a brand new washing machine gifted to them. She was so transparent it was cringeworthy.

I have always suspected that Clemmie confided in one of her Instagram besties that she was on Tattle. And then in classic Mean Girls fashion, that mate merrily threw her under the bus. There are no real friendships on Instagram.

I was lurked on the Tattle threads at the same time as 'Alice'. It wasn't a busy thread at the time. She repeatedly defended herself (quite weakly tbh) and I think at one point, might have said that she was a friend of MOD (ie herself). Most of the posters on the thread had sussed her. She was even banned at one point and came back under another username.

Having said that, I also don't understand why she didn't just deny it was her to her fellow influencers because she'd said something horrible about most of her so called 'friends' although I have a feeling that there's quite a few other influencers who post on there incognito or at least lurk so maybe they confronted her with it and she cracked.

yapperpapper · 02/03/2023 19:29

Yes she did defend herself on tattle. It was quite obvious and she was saying she was offering another view. Then she would slag off FOD. She mentioned she hind about with known influencers. She ended up with two profiles and got caught, I believe there was something with geo tagging. If you read the article in Grazia today they have a write up of her giving evidence today and what she said at the hearing

Remmy123 · 02/03/2023 19:33

Pleased to hear this. She made thousands and thousands flogging and not declaring absolute shit!

given w machines , clothes jewellery / holidays etc

then went on Tattle to slag her mates off and big her self up 🤣

whay a Wally!

bet her husband was in on it

she must be really kicking herself!!

Mangomingo · 02/03/2023 19:50

It’s so interesting. They it ALL (materially, and if you don’t mind documenting your life on Insta). They were living the lives of really wealthy people, constantly renovating their home, wearing designer clothes, going on multiple free holidays every year. And yet she was on these holidays logging on to Tattle slagging off her husband. And then it disappeared absolutely overnight. She totally, totally fucked it up.

she should write a tell all book. Not a weaselly excuses book, but a really no holds barred book about that particular time in history when we worshipped a load of middle class mums on Insta and threw free stuff at them. Mad.

The pair of them should get off the internet entirely and retire into obscurity but yeah, this would be a good second choice.

Leftoverssandwich · 02/03/2023 20:44

She’s not a good writer though. (As if she’d write it herself!!)

BashirWithTheGoodBeard · 02/03/2023 20:46

She should get Isabelle Oakeshott in to ghostwrite.

Leftoverssandwich · 02/03/2023 21:15

I imagine her leaked texts would make for good reading.

Nedmund · 02/03/2023 23:30

To all the PP who have said she's not unhinged, you are right. It actually excuses her to say that. It's her beliefs and choices she made to have behaved the way she did. I don't believe anything about her has changed apart from her not having the platform she did.

I see in the grazia write up, that she is arguing she didn’t know that calling a black woman aggressive was a racist stereotype. Not sure I believe that

Hadn't she been sharing books about race?
Was that before or after aliceinwanderlust?

The book post was before. But of course she's going to lie, if she says was deliberately racist, she'll lose her job and I'm going to take a wild guess that after her fall from grace, they need two incomes.

imlateasusual · 03/03/2023 08:37

What actually was the racism? Was it the 'race card' comment alone or was there more?
