What outside noise can you hear right now?

What noises can you from either outside or from your neighbours? So not noises that are being made from from your own family.

I have just heard the air ambulance go over (I live 2 miles from base), I can hear what sounds like somebody shoveling gravel and also my neighbour banging around in his kitchen (he is incapable of doing anything without making a racket!)

Traffic noise (we're close to a main road), birdsong, tree branches swooshing gently in the breeze.

daffodilandtulip · 19/02/2023 13:08

Scaffolders banging and swearing, a man hammering roof tiles, someone pressure washing, neighbours dog barking, next doors kid squealing, a lawnmower and an ambulance went by as I started typing. As you can imagine, I'm in a great mood.

IHeartGeneHunt · 19/02/2023 13:08

A tram going past and a chaffinch.

Imamumgetmeoutofhere · 19/02/2023 13:09

Not a sound here. Really quiet and peaceful. Was woken up at 6am by a neighbours dog though

Florissant · 19/02/2023 13:09

Traffic.

ItsLoudInMyMind · 19/02/2023 13:10

My tinnitus is too loud to hear if there are any birds but 2 cars just went by.

cassiatwenty · 19/02/2023 13:11

TV on (skiing commentary), mum cooking, sizzling oil, doors opening, radio music, tap water, doors opening and being closed. Cars driving outside.

StrictlyCandelabra · 19/02/2023 13:12

The river.

Smoothlines · 19/02/2023 13:12

Outside? Nothing at all. And I live in central London! I heard a plane go by a few minutes ago. That’s it.

cassiatwenty · 19/02/2023 13:13

@daffodilandtulip I'm so terribly sorry, it sounds like a very stressful environment right now.

Do any of those scaffolders look like like Love Island scaffolders or...Are they fit? Might help.

ShowOfHands · 19/02/2023 13:15

The odd car now and then but mostly, just the birds.

Live in small village in Norfolk and it's always quiet.

Chemenger · 19/02/2023 13:15

Distant rumble of traffic, a seagull, and the occasional car on the cobbles outside.

whoruntheworldgirls · 19/02/2023 13:15

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 19/02/2023 12:46

There’s a small plane flying overhead, otherwise very peaceful here.

Same here

PomsInOz · 19/02/2023 13:16

Geckos doing that weird rattly "ge-ko" sound they make. One of my favourite noises on holiday.

daffodilandtulip · 19/02/2023 13:16

@cassiatwenty haha no, rough as!

It's been like this for a while and it's really starting to get me down. It used to be so peaceful.

AgnesNaismith · 19/02/2023 13:17

Classic suburban first sun of the year Sunday - washing and hoovering of cars.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 19/02/2023 13:17

Nothing at all at the moment, just occasional breeze through the trees. It's a quiet cul de sac and I can often hear kids playing on the road at the weekend, but it's half term so maybe most of them are away.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 19/02/2023 13:17

Pretty quiet at the moment but we've had a lot of motorbike/quad bike noise today 😡. And neighbour's dogs barking a lot.

Luckily my attached neighbour is away as he's incapable of not being a noisy twat. We can always hear the road noise if the windows are open.

LindorDoubleChoc · 19/02/2023 13:19

Neighbours two boys shouting, screaming and crying - as per usual.

ElaOfSalisbury · 19/02/2023 13:19

Birdsong

FinallyHere · 19/02/2023 13:19

Birds

Planes (LHR 20mins away, easterly wind and sunshine, today) using the runway with the least noise for us

Needmorelego · 19/02/2023 13:19

@PissedOffNeighbour22 oh we get the "vroom vroom vroom" motorbike too - but at 3 o'clock in the frigging morning.

anr70 · 19/02/2023 13:19

Just birds and a lovely breeze. Have to go back to my own house this weekend where I'll hear kids screaming and heavy traffic so I'm soaking up the relaxation while I can

MrsEX1 · 19/02/2023 13:20

vdbfamily · 19/02/2023 13:22
