Anyone else got this bastard coughing bug?

DS and all his classmates had this coughing bug and now it's sweeping the parents too. Been coughing solidly for two weeks. At times coughing so hard I've been been sick and struggled to catch my breath. My pelvic floor is pleading for mercy.

Doctor has listened to my chest and there's no infections. I've tested for Covid daily and everything is coming back negative.

Still I can't stop fucking coughing.

Anyone else? How long before it passes....

Yes ive got it. 36 weeks pregnant and ut really hurts to cough and makes me sick. Had it about a week and im absolutely sick of it now, really hope it buggers off soon but dss keeps getting cough after cough and never covers his mouth no matter how many times hes told so its constant.

I think i had it!

Not sure as I may have had a series of things but I first got ill on 21st December and am just getting better this week so about 6 - 7 weeks I guess.

No idea why or how but Vicks on the feet plus two pairs of socks works wonders at night. Been doing it for a while now but don’t know why it works 🤷🏻‍♀️ If you google there’s lots of people who will swear by it… try it and see if it works for you.

Onions and garlic in the soles of the feet are also supposed to cure colds. I’m being serious.

Yep. I had it before Christmas. DH had it so bad he ended up in hospital. Still coughing.

It sounds like what I caught at the end of November last year. I'm just feeling like I'm getting over it now, although I still have the fatigue and get very out of breath very quickly.
I'm sorry to say that the severe cough lasted 8 weeks for me and then finally began to tail off.
I still sleep propped up on 4 or 5 pillows.

totally have it too, it seems never ending…. delighted to find I’m far from alone in this business of coughing so much it causes vomiting. I’m in bed with a basin next to me 🙄 Been off work all week with it, rattling with any and every remedy and it just goes on 🙄🙄🙄🙄

The same here. I can just about manage the school run then I'm back to bed for a few hours, before psyching myself up to go out again for another hour in bed on my return. My breathing sounds like, what I can only describe as, a kids "mooing" stick which you turn up and down and get a long screach out of. The coughing is on another level of ridiculousness and even my neighbour has passed comment that she can hear me in the night.
Even covid didn't feel this bad (and was over well before day 10)

Is it a mucus-y cough? I had it before Christmas if so and apple cider vinegar with honey was a lifesaver. Vile but a lifesaver. I’ll try to find the link to the recipe I used I couldn’t believe it worked as i had been coughing for weeks before I started with it

This is the one I used but I tweaked it - added more honey and didn’t use as much cayenne pepper because ironically it made me cough!

Me! Second week in. Also sinus pain and headaches. These have alleviated a bit, but the cough continues....
My eyes and nose stream when I have a coughing fit too. I am worn out with it. 😔

So sorry people are suffering. I saw a programme testing off the shelf cough medicines, versus the old fashioned fresh lemon in hot water with honey - Dr Xander was given chili powder and was coughing, tried the lemon and honey, it worked immediately.
