Continuation of previous lifeboat threads (thread 4).

Gather here all ye refugees from the JTT Flat Earth Society, welcome to the reassuringly oblate spheroid of MN! Ye all already know the answers to the questions "How the heck do I format my post?" "Why can't I edit my typos?" "What do those acronyms mean?" and most importantly, "Where is everybody that I used to know?"

So really we're all here just to chat randomly.

NotDrowningJustCrowing · 25/02/2023 13:30

Belated happy birthday @BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn and happy birthday in advance @Britinme !

angelico53 · 25/02/2023 16:42

All the very best, you two.

dollymixedup · 26/02/2023 19:52

Birthday salutations to all!

I've got a new job. Bit nerve racking to retrain and start a new thing, but have had enough of my current role - we got a new area manager about a year ago and I am not a fan (the feeling is mutual I am not in her clique). I could cope with them not liking me, but the fact that they don't appreciate how hard I work and reliable I am really winds me up. We are losing a lot of good staff at the moment so I don't think I am the only one who feels this way. I've had two transfer requests turned down - so enough is enough.

Winterborne74 · 26/02/2023 20:31

Congratulations @dollymixedup ! Hope it’s an exciting new start for you with a better manager.

mach2 · 26/02/2023 20:33

Congratulations on the nooo start. May your email inbox be crammed with appreciation in the near future.

Britinme · 26/02/2023 20:34

That's great about the new job and retraining @dollymixedup - congratulations.

dollymixedup · 26/02/2023 20:43

Thanks guys, need to get a DBS and wait on references but don't forsee any issues with that stuff. Been in the processed food game for almost ten years now - the idea of another 20 was not appealing!

bignosebignose · 26/02/2023 20:47

Nice one dolly. In BNBN news, after reading all about nasty headaches on here this week, I found myself awake last night with a not very strong but definitely annoying one. Then sniffles during the day and shivering this evening. Covid has finally decided it’s my turn for ride.

Winterborne74 · 26/02/2023 20:49

Bad luck! I’ve been spared so far, but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time. Hope it’s gentle with you.

Britinme · 26/02/2023 20:51

Oh hard luck @bignosebignose . I hope it's mild and you feel better soon.

dollymixedup · 26/02/2023 20:58

Oh no @bignosebignose hope that you don't feel too dreadful and recover quickly.

What Winterborne said; I'm the same, escaped so far.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 26/02/2023 21:05

Well that's a mixed bag of posts to catch up on.

Very exciting news, Dolly! I hope your new place appreciates you properly, and you enjoy the change.

Sorry to hear you're becovided, BNBN. May it be be mild and brief - and make sure you rest to improve your chances of it being so.* *

Gonners · 26/02/2023 21:17

Oh bollocks, bnbn! Hope you feel better very soon.

NotDrowningJustCrowing · 26/02/2023 23:25

May it be mild and brief and leave you only slightly besniffled, @bignosebignose

That's great news, @dollymixedup

Some amazing photos on this thread.

Any exiles lucky enough to witness it? Have never seen it myself, so am very envious of those who have.

SinnerBoy · 27/02/2023 00:29

@bignosebignose

That sounds like the jelly legs thing I've had for a few days. A bit of bloody snot, but I feel OK tonight, hope you are too!

Been in the processed food game for almost ten years now...

Does PGRO mean owt to you?

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 27/02/2023 00:39

We should be far enough north here to see aurora from time to time, but we have a relatively dark view to the south and a very light one to the north. And cloud cover more often than not.
