Most daftly overpriced thing you've seen lately?

I've really fancied trying these Bueno eggs, finally saw them in Tesco and nearly collapsed in shock at the price. £2.75!! For a few tiny little eggs. I think not. The delights of the Bueno egg will remain a mystery to me.

What have you seen lately that's ridiculously overpriced? I know everything but maybe like the little treats you might have bought that are now so out of budget that you won't buy them even if you can afford too.

Cat food. 12 tins is nearly a tenner for Asda branded wet food now. WTAF.

I know! And they seem to have 'improved' it as the cats won't eat it anymore....

We’ve started going to Home Bargains for our weekly shop as it’s generally cheaper than either Tesco/Asda. Doesn’t work out too badly if you’re not too brand-loyal! I find them good for shampoo, toiletries, tinned stuff and kitchen roll. The worst bit is having to go to the big supermarkets to get what was missing in Home Bargs.
D.P. shops like a toddler in a toy shop though, and will chuck random stuff in the trolley…. I have to remove it by stealth. Often hear him clanking round the kitchen looking for “that stuff we bought”😁

PetuniaT · 03/02/2023 17:37

Any electric car! They're 50-100% dearer than their petrol equivalent and lose their value so much faster with a replacement battery costing around £5,000 making them very dodgy "used-car" buys. And there's a cost of living crisis supposed to be going on!

Mickymedic · 03/02/2023 17:46

I’m not sure on your size but try SHEIN I’m a 22 and I got lovely ones for between £10-20 and the fit and wash lovely x

Mickymedic · 03/02/2023 17:47

Mickymedic · 03/02/2023 17:59

My son and daughter are both autistic I’ve had to get creative I take the labels off the old tins and jars and keep the Kellogg’s boxes and sneak the own brand stuff in and bin the own brand labels glue the branded labels on them and pop in the cupboard 😂 sometimes I get away with it sometimes I don’t but most of the time I do lol

A hotel room in Liverpool during Eurovision weekend. Over £22k!!!!!!!

I'd pay that not to tend that annual mediocrefest.

wolfmom · 03/02/2023 18:00

£50 for a bedazzled febreze spray bottle. No clue why I got an advert pop up on Facebook for it but it gave me (and the family) a good laugh

Icantfindmykeys · 03/02/2023 18:01

£1 in Sainsburys atm!!

Mummadeze · 03/02/2023 18:02

The yoghurt I like has gone up from £2.90 to £3.35 in Co-op. Makes me annoyed every time I buy it.

Tiaptia85 · 03/02/2023 18:03

still can't get over a price for a skip £300 😱

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 03/02/2023 18:05

This is obviously the on the wrong shelf.

Yes - as I said....

Vynalbob · 03/02/2023 18:07

Small shop nearby.....bought ds his favourite 'mountain dew'...was expensive £1.25....
didn't notice until scanned now £1.85....even the cashier gasped (increased two days earlier 60p)

Cautionsharpblade · 03/02/2023 18:08

Edinburgh accommodation in August. Gone up roughly 50% since last year

Piester · 03/02/2023 18:08

Annierob · 03/02/2023 18:10

We've just had a new retail park built and they have put Aldi and b&m next to each other - perfect!

unreasonableornothelp · 03/02/2023 18:15

Stork baking spread £2.30 for 500g in Asda it used to be cheap! Their own brand is £1.35!

RedLorryYellaLorry · 03/02/2023 18:15

Sorry not NRTFT so probably already mentioned, but:

That silly Prime drink selling at anything from £7 to £20 on marketplace.

Mini Eggs in Lidl - £2.75 for a tiny bag that only had six eggs in (there were so few in the bag I could feel how many there were)

A bloke selling a rotting falling-to-bits wooden chicken coop for £300, covered in rust, algae and mould. Then he slashed the price to a mere £100. He was practically giving it away apparently 🙄

A very basic run-of-the-mill, fast-fashion, will-shrink-in-the-wash-immediately tshirt from Tesco on the SALE RACK for £14. It had originally been £22. In fact the entire sale rack was something to laugh at. Bursting at the seams because no fucker was buying any of it.

MummyBee40 · 03/02/2023 18:17

I've never seen Shreddies this expensive, even these bigger boxes. Tesco are sold out of their own brand £1 ones until the 20th of February. I'm not surprised the cheaper ones are in high demand with these prices!

Hmm1234 · 03/02/2023 18:20

They were 50p a roll in the January sale and that’s still running

Catlady74 · 03/02/2023 18:21

Have a look at Pre-Worn on eBay there’s loads of bargains on there. They currently have 50% off items and buy 2 get a third free. They do clothes, shoes & accessories for Women, Men & kids. Also if you add something to your watchlist they will send you an offer on that item. Just one thing to note the delivery is £3:50 per item but if you add all items to your basket the cost of delivery comes down so it’s worth working out which is cheaper the offer or buying all together. I think they also have a website.
Hope this helps you find some bargains 😺

Had a bit of a chuckle about Paperchase earlier in the week - few years ago they allowed themselves to be bullied by left wing fascists like Owen Jones into withdrawing advertising from the DM (and I have no real regard for that particular rag)
As the saying goes "go woke, go broke"
I wish I'd known about the banning that tory rag the DM. I would have used the shop more

KittyMa · 03/02/2023 18:25

Eon charging me £30 a month electricity when the only thing on is the fridge freezer. I'll have to get rid of that but with no heating I wouldn't need a fridge.

Arniesleftleg · 03/02/2023 18:26

Bisto gravy granules. Almost £6
