Aaah @petalpower good to see you. Smile

Overwhelmed here as well but so pleased to know the thread and the wonderful people on it are ready when we are. Thanks

RunningKatie · 12/05/2023 20:34

I thought I posted yesterday but apparently not.
So, still here! Starting to really get the hang of the new job so days are getting busy in a good way. 4 months has flown by.
Hoping to get out in the garden this weekend if the weather allows, if not then we're baking cakes!

petalpower · 12/05/2023 20:36

Thank you @SnowAndIceLobelia . Life just gets in the way sometimes.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 13/05/2023 02:43

Nothing stellar to report - been sick past few days. 😷
Was awake early today due to sore throat, so cleaned bathroom and washed the floor, then folded and put away laundry. Just finished an early dinner, have given Havoc a bath and some milk and put a load of laundry in the wash. Planning on an early night to bed and see how things look tomorrow. Still need to finish kitchen deep clean/organize.

MoreCloudsThanYouCanImagine · 13/05/2023 06:29

Morning! Boo to the lurgy @Aria999 😔
Big hugs and solidarity to @petalpower and @ComeTheSpringLobelia 💕
Hope the party goes/went well @SpiritOfEdna (not sure if it was Fri eve or weekend?) Sounds all go as always.

Hope @Peridot1 and @RunningKatie are well and still missing @FatSealSmugSoup . Hope she is elsewhere under a different username and is ok!

It's a bit ☔ round here but i have plans to shampoo carpets when the weather improves (hopefully next week)
Today I need to attack a couple of bedroom drawers but first I must go to work...

I lost fitness over the winter with all that was going on, so I plan to restart brisk walking this afternoon, and then start slotting in a weekly swim.

Happy weekend everyone 😘

MoreCloudsThanYouCanImagine · 13/05/2023 06:35

@Mumtobabyhavoc I just looked up baby Jack from the incredibles after @SpiritOfEdna's comment 😂
Havic does sound funny and cute!

Ohhh I'm posting off my emails and didn't see the most recent replies! Hello everyone xxx

Mumtobabyhavoc · 13/05/2023 17:23

Was up at 6:30: washed out the kitchen garbage can; wiped the railings on the deck; and have put a load of laundry in that's now ready to be hung up. Heading out with Havoc shortly to see ponies! More tidying later. Did I mention I have purged some socks? 🤗

Mumtobabyhavoc · 13/05/2023 18:20

Managed to plunger the bathroom sink * as I noticed it was draining slowly then clean sink and bathtub while I put laundry through another quick wash with vinegar, then unloaded dishwasher. Laundry now hung up and finally able to get out the door!

*some very yucky bits flowed out the overflow drain then up the drain as I poured water into the overflow. 🤢

Hi all.

I am still here. Although can’t say I’m achieving too much! Need to get my act together.

We are hosting a big catered Bbq next month that DH and some neighbours bought at a silent auction at a charity cricket match last summer. So we are focusing on the garden for the next while. I have a big list!

I also need to tackle the ironing pile.

Have a great day all.

SpiritOfEdna · 14/05/2023 14:22

Afternoon! Party was yesterday and was very good; sibling was happily surprised and thrilled to have a day all about her, so all went to plan. The dog was really well behaved with more people than she is used to being in the house and was a dream with the two-year old. Am sure there may be sore heads today 🤣.

I don’t quite know what to do with myself though!!! The plasterer fit us in today to do the hall and bathroom ceilings and has just left and I’m looking round wondering what to do. He also dismantled the wardrobes I want moving so another job done off the list.

Have a good day all

Busy weekend here, unblocked a sink too, ironed lots, many loads of washing out on the line, sorted out the receipts pile etc. Tonight I need to message the school piano teacher who hasn't done ds' lesson in 3 weeks.
Can't believe there's no bank holiday tomorrow and I'm expected to work a 5 day week! Happy Sunday evening all

SpiritOfEdna · 15/05/2023 12:31

Hellooooo

Busy day meeting wise today and we blitzed the house yesterday so no traces remain that there was ever a party here. Today is all go on moving on with the home improvements:

  • new blinds being fitted on Friday, so some moving of stuff/ painting to be done before then
  • plumber confirmed for 22nd to remove radiators, plasterer rebooked to patch up with the walls where radiators are pulling away from the walls
  • measured up for an additional bit for wardrobe - not too hopeful of getting one the right size as they are quite spendy - maybe will phone the company we got the wardrobes from in the first place.
  • painter and decorator booked in to come and quote for hall/landing/stairs/kitchen/living & dining room
  • move bikes out into alley and ensure locked
All go here at Edna towers :-)

Have a good day all

SoE

Hi everyone.

Still just plugging away at things this week.

But today i sorted out the DC playroom and did a load of washing and ironing. The play room looks so much better now.

Oh- and yesterday I moved a small Turkish rug from the attic to our bedroom. It looks great!

SpringLobelia · 15/05/2023 16:19

I forgot to add that DH (who is on the mend) washed the DCs curtains today. And has finished painting DS1s bedroom (DS1 has been on the sofa bed in the playroom). Next on the painting agenda is the playroom itself I believe.

RunningKatie · 15/05/2023 20:49

Done very little of note today except work and be a mum taxi to activities. However, 2 tasks delegated to dh and completed which is epic.

SpringLobelia · 16/05/2023 07:13

Morning all.

Hope everyone is well.

Today I am at the DCs school as I have volunteered to help out on a project there. Then my task will be to ring our local pet crematorium as our DCat sadly passed away. Feeling very numb and sad as she was greatly and dearly loved and we will miss her terribly.

I hope so much that everyone has a good day.

Thanks to everyone.

RunningKatie · 16/05/2023 07:20

So sorry @SpringLobelia x

Peridot1 · 16/05/2023 08:30

Oh I am sorry @SpringLobelia. That’s so sad.

petalpower · 16/05/2023 09:24

Really sorry to hear about your lovely cat @SpringLobelia . Pets are such an important part of the family. Flowers

SpiritOfEdna · 16/05/2023 12:43

@SpringLobelia so sorry to hear about your beloved cat x

SpringLobelia · 16/05/2023 15:06

Thank you so much everyone. We are feeling sad and low. We have bought a bottle of champagne to toast her memory.

I hope everyone is fine. This afternoon I am washing all the cat bedding and drying it. Plus giving our other two cuddles and Dreamies.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 16/05/2023 23:06

Aww Spring, sorry about your dcat. 💐

Feeling quite rough still with this awful cold virus. Folded and put away laundry, straightened one row of clothes hanging in closet and threw away one pyjama top that had seen better days. Keeping the pink flannel bottoms as can wear them one more winter and pink makes me happy. Got netflix on and watching the Anna Nicole Smith doc. Likely won't get anything else done.

Aria999 · 17/05/2023 03:12

Sorry for your loss @SpringLobelia 😢

SnowAndIceLobelia · 17/05/2023 18:47

Thanks so much everyone. It has really hit me hard. In one way i am so happy that it is over as she was so tired and she had a good life and in others i keep thinking of things i regret- like not getting her out into the garden last week because it was raining or because i did not want to disturb her.

Hope you are feeling better @Mumtobabyhavoc

Early to bed for me. I am tired and low. Our wonderful cleaner is coming tomorrow and after a quick blitz on the kitchen in the company of The Archers I think we are ready for her.

Hope everyone is well. Thanks

RunningKatie · 17/05/2023 18:58

I have a massive pile to drop off at the charity shop, think I can go during half term week. Will be so nice to get back a bit of space from the clutter.
