A few more things achieved today:

  • been to my aqua fit class
  • done three loads of washing including all items to be put on eBay and got them dry
  • picked up dog flea and worm treatment for the vets
  • picked up medication for DH from the pharmacy
  • made a smug dinner from freezer leftovers
I love hearing what everyone else has been up to. @SpiritOfEdna your lists are always so impressive on top of working!
Peridot1 · 26/04/2023 09:18

Morning all.

Not much achieved here last few days. Not even the list! Or the things on my last short list!

However today I WILL get stuff done!

today’s list:

  • empty dishwasher
  • tidy kitchen
  • tidy utility room surfaces
  • put washing away
  • pack up skirt to be returned
  • take skirt to post office, take bags of clothes to charity bins, pick up DH’s watch
  • complete and return forms regarding school governor application
  • washing
  • order a picture frame
  • arrange for guy to come and measure up for blinds on landing
  • start brain dump list

If I get that lot done I will be happy!

Hello!

I have just spent 2 hours cleaning downstairs thoroughly. I am now upstairs and have the following to do;

  • general tidy
  • clean out 2 kitty litter trays
  • toilets x2
  • bathroom x 1
  • strip and wash beds
  • ironing - 2 loads already washed and ready for ironing another 2 to go
  • clear out my study as more crap from downstairs needs to be moved to it
  • I have also done a charity bag delivery
  • I have also vacuumed my car

I have fallen behind on my housework hence the epic activity

DH continues on with painting DS1's bedroom. Poor DS is on the sofa bed right now.

DH is also as I write hanging up a picture in the sitting room downstairs

I also mealplanned for the week and tonight is the DC-approved hotdogs with wedges and salad.

Hope everyone has a good and productive day!

SpiritOfEdna · 26/04/2023 16:12

Afternoon - where has the morning gone (in pointless meetings that's where...)

My random tasks for the day:

  • clean kitchen worktops - DONE
  • clean French doors - dreading this one, I hate cleaning windows I always leave trails...
  • tidy one (more) item in bedroom - DONE
  • set up the power wash for the yard. DONE but why do they always miss out one attachment that has to be bought seperately?
  • move all the plants in pots back into the border so the yard can be pressure washed. Not going to happen without the sodding attachment.
My lovely new bedding has arrived for when the bed is finally refurbed. That will get stashed away with the new duvet. I have resisted pulling it out of it's bag to see what it looks like on the bed; I'll never get it folded back neatly. Alas, while this has been on my screen for the past 4 hours I have not been able to resist temptation. It is, as predicted, not back into it's lovely bag neatly at all :-) 2 more meetings today and I am freeeee.....

SoE.

Load of laundry washed and hung to dry
Killed a bug crawling on bathroom floor
Washed entire bathroom floor with vinegar

petalpower · 26/04/2023 20:18

Forgot to say that a really big job for me was to get mine and DD’s passports renewed as they both run out in the next 3 months. Renewed online last Thursday and posted old passports on Friday. Have already had my old passport returned and email notification that the new ones are approved and being printed. Relieved as the passport service are supposedly on strike for 5 weeks.

MoreCloudsThanYouCanImagine · 27/04/2023 06:42

Hello! We had lovely sunshine here yesterday and the ☀ and a brisk breeze fully dried a load of laundry for the first time this year!

My clutter is back under control. More or less.

We need to get on with some gardening and some small fixing jobs around the house.

I think this calls for a list....

Have a lovely day 💕

Peridot1 · 27/04/2023 09:35

Everyone is getting loads done!

I didn’t get everything on my list done but I did do some of it. Which is a vast improvement on recent behaviour!

Today’s list:

From yesterday:

  • pack up skirt and post
  • bags of clothes to charity bins
  • order picture frame
  • send in school governor form (I did complete it yesterday)

Today’s tasks:

  • dishwasher and kitchen tidy around
  • put washing away
  • DS washing if he brings it down
  • go into local Majestic Wines re wine/glasses/ice etc for a village BBQ in June
  • start my long list!
  • bring old bras to bra drop off box in town
  • take random recycling bits to town

Have a great day all.

SpringLobelia · 27/04/2023 14:36

Hello!

I am resolutely not getting things done @Peridot1 Grin

Our wonderful cleaner came today and DH is away for the day for a hospital appointment so i am bingewathcing 'Rough Diamonds' on netflix and eating crisps.

Its rather wonderful.

I hope everyone has a lovely day and I will be back in full achievement mode (maybe) tomorrow!!

MoreCloudsThanYouCanImagine · 28/04/2023 07:14

Morning all!
@Peridot1 I packed up some bras to send to a charity, and they are still sitting on the dining room table - so thank you for the prompt! I pledge to send them today....

Today I think I will give the outside of my cooker and perhaps the fridge freezer a thorough clean. They get wiped over so not encrusted with filth, but I'd like them properly shiny and clean.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 28/04/2023 07:34

Really enjoying the lists! I'm imagining all of you as very put together with lovely organized homes. Goals. 🙂
Walked Havoc to school today. Well, pushed Havoc in stroller to school but Havoc walked with me home. Ten minutes took 40. Toddlers. 🤷‍♀️😂
Made lunch then did a load of laundry, hung it up and folded/put away another while Havoc napped. Made a pizza for dinner! Pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, anchovies, crab, buffalo mozzarella (might sound strange, but is delicious and I think I could sell them) While I waited for dough to rise took Havoc out for another walk up and down the block and stopped by a local barber shop to enquire about a toddler haircut. While pizza was in the oven quickly wiped baseboards in Havoc's bedroom. Cleaned up after dinner then did a very thorough vacuum.
All in all feel today was productive! However, I might be overtired as I'm still awake and on MN when I should have gone to bed an hour ago...🤷‍♀️

MoreCloudsThanYouCanImagine · 28/04/2023 10:32

I would be a sad disappointment to you @Mumtobabyhavoc My home is functional now it only contains me and DH, but organised and put together we are not. I had three havocs and lived in chaos for 20-odd years. Your pizza sounds delicious!

SpringLobelia · 28/04/2023 10:40

Oh that pizza sounds lovely!

I had a pizza a few weeks ago that I have been thinking about ever since..... roasted peppers, goats cheese, salami and honey.

I am getting stuck into one of the rooms that has become a dumping ground. I am committing myself to 50 minutes..... have a couple of youtube videos I have put aside ready to keep me company.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 28/04/2023 16:17

Did anyone else look at their list of threads and find this was deleted for privacy concerns? I just had to search it to find it again.

MoreCloudsThanYouCanImagine · 28/04/2023 17:03

That's odd. No, threads I'm on worked ok for so just a glitch hopefully. I do remember someone possibly you, @Mumtobabyhavoc, saying the previous threads were on trending though, and I had the same (despite them not being in active)

MoreCloudsThanYouCanImagine · 28/04/2023 17:03

Oh today they are in similar threads , which is reasonable

petalpower · 29/04/2023 08:19

Morning all!
Yesterday was a big admin day. Why does everything take so long? DH and I are going to NZ in the spring and have just finalised our flights so yesterday involved sorting out travel insurance (which is always a bit more complicated with my heart issue) and getting the dog booked in with the dog sitters. They’d got a new online booking system which needed exact dates of last vaccinations, microchip number etc and took ages. Paid some bills, replied to messages that needed dates agreeing to, ran a maintenance wash with cleaner in the washing machine and other glamorous stuff!
Today DS is here for the weekend and we also have friends visiting who know care home auntie so we’re all going out for lunch and taking her too. Now sitting outside the hairdresser waiting for DS who had a few drinks with a friend in London last night and thinks he might not be safe to drive so mum’s taxi service has sprung into action!
Have a good day everyone.

Peridot1 · 29/04/2023 08:58

Good morning all. Sunshine here! Yay.

I still haven’t done all of my list. But hey ho. And I haven’t done my list. Hey ho again!

We did have a guy come to measure up for the last set of blinds needed and some curtains. He also steamed some linen curtains I had ordered from elsewhere and put up.

As it looks like the weather may finally improve and warm up I am off for a pedicure this morning. If I don’t terrify the poor girl looking at the bruising on my ankle from my fall last week. It’s fairly impressive! Also having eyebrows tinted. It’s the equivalent of a maintenance wash of the washing machine really. Grin. Pre-summer maintenance.

DH is planning on starting to power wash the patio so I’ll need to keep the dog inside. Which means I can’t do the gardening stuff I’d planned. Might do a garden centre run for some plants for some of the pots.

@Mumtobabyhavoc - my house is definitely not very organised! Hence being on this thread!

MoreCloudsThanYouCanImagine · 01/05/2023 09:44

Hello! I've got a list that's not chores as such, but things that I've been procrastinating on.
And of course now it's bank holiday so I can't make the calls.

I need to book:
Optician
Dentist
Hairdresser ✅
Massage (everything hurts!

I'd like to catch up with a couple of my friends so maybe we can arrange things today if they are up for it.

I have some online training for work that needs keeping up to date.

I do need to run the hoover round.

Looks ready to rain here!

Have a lovely bank holiday everyone xx

RunningKatie · 01/05/2023 10:39

Happy May! Today I've already checked the wall calendar and my phone calendar match so I have an idea what is going on.
Yesterday we sorted out winter hats and gloves, some binned and rest stored for next winter. I need to wash winter coats but always do that too early and the weather changes again!

SpiritOfEdna · 01/05/2023 19:00

Hello bit late for me today- but nice reading everyone’s first May Day.

So this weekend:

  • finally got the last of the hanging baskets up and filled with violas
  • managed to break up the old coffee table made up of old railway sleepers ready for tip. Managed to whack my finger against the wall a bruise is forming 🤣
  • the attachment for power wash turned up and fits!!!
  • sanded some more of the bed
  • got out for a hour long bike ride this morning; got one in on Saturday with the Niece too
  • dog got a very very long walk today - she is sparko next to me
  • cleaned some internal doors
  • finished my accounts work to send to the accountant tomorrow
I am a bit sparko myself now; but am ready to attack the week ahead SoE
Mumtobabyhavoc · 03/05/2023 06:40

I've fallen off the wagon and have only managed laundry/bedding, wash kitchen/bathroom floors and clean bathroom lately. Basics. Did buy two new (bed) pillows and garbage three, though.
Need to remove everything from kitchen counters and wash counters and walls and wash and rearrange items to a more efficient locals. Have a toaster oven that's seen better days and time to toss out and replace with a new one, and air fryer thing, or just a good quality toaster. Haven't decided and welcome any opinions! If I manage that it means I need to face replacing my ancient, but functional microwave. Oh, and build/install some type of shelf or shelves in a large kitchen cupboard that has nothing but wasted space and is therefore a nightmare to keep organized and tidy as everything is just stacked up (baking pans, roasters, muffin tins etc).

SpringLobelia · 03/05/2023 07:10

Morning all. Fell off the wagon a bit here too... but am managing to keep on top of the daily tasks and washing and all that so I will take that as a win!

RunningKatie · 03/05/2023 09:07

This morning as well as putting a wash on, I've cleaned the shower drain and put a 2018 ikea catalogue in the recycling.
Definitely peaked way too early today, off to start work now!

Peridot1 · 03/05/2023 11:20

Hi all

Not much achieved here really. Story of my life at the moment.

Did manage some gardening yesterday and planted some new plants in a bed. And finished weeding another bed and dug some manure through it. More plants to be planted today and I have a rhubarb I want to put in the weeded and manured bed.

House wise I’m just doing basics really.
