What was the first album you ever owned? Would you still listen to it now?

I was reminded of my first album recently, so had a listen on Spotify... interesting experience! Some of it was exciting and great, some utter crap. It was - going all the way back to 1981- Kings of the Wild Frontier by Adam and the Ants. I was 12.

What was your first album, and do you still like it?

My very own personal choice album was a tape of Boss Drum by the shamen. I think I was 12...
Still a banging album! Haven't listened for years but might have to now!

Seriously, who doesn't love the Wombles? My goldfish was called Madam Cholet.

Dammit OP; you are Susan Mills from Durham aren't you? My cousin lived next door to you!

Spice girls - Spice World. DD is loving CDs at the moment so got some for Christmas and I dug my old ones out too so we have them in the car. She wasn't impressed with Spice Girls but did like Bowling for Soup lol

I had an older brother who I shared a bedroom with, so had access to quite a wide music collection as a kid. The first album I actually bought with my own money was U2’s The Joshua Tree. I still listen to it now on occasion.

Although I know it wasn’t asked by the OP. the first single I bought was the 12” version of Little Fluffy Clouds by The Orb.

"the first single I bought was the 12” version of Little Fluffy Clouds by The Orb"

I love that- takes me back to decadent days in the 90s.

I bought 2 with Christmas money the year I got a personal cd player. Oasis morning glory and pulp different class, still have both on my Apple Music

Ahh forgot to add yes I'd still listen to it. Most of my Spotify playlist is 80's hits! I'm stuck in a timewarp.

There’s nothing more decedent than buying the 12” single, when the 7” was sitting right next to it on the shelf in Our Price.

Oh my, the 12" single. That takes me back. As does "Our Price"... I used to work there!

What a coincidence- I used to buy my 12” singles of Little Fluffy Clouds by The Orb there. 😂
