I think she looks very stylish.

These typos of coat dresses are popular with the Royals. I suppose that they have a certain dress code to follow.

Kate clearly has an iron will and must exercise every single day ( having gyms , pools at your disposal etc makes it easier I guess )
On holiday this year at an all inclusive holiday an extremely slender woman was Walking around with one tiny prune on a big plate ! I can imagine Kate doesnt dive into the chocs at Christmas either !!
Wished I had the same will to be fitter / slender

Fit and slim aren’t the same thing. I’m very slim, and eat chocs. I’m not particularly fit but I am very slim, and I’ve had three DC and am in my 50s. I look a bit like her shape-wise - but I don’t have her swishy long hair. There’s no will involved. I imagine she might be the same.

Comedycook · 26/12/2022 13:46

If you're Kate's size at 50 and eat chocolates and don't restrict your food, then you're very, very unusual. Reminds me of when incredibly thin celebrities say they never exercise and live off pizza and takeaway. It's nonsense and implies that women who are larger must be extremely gluttonous and lazy, afteral, all these women are stuffing their faces and are absolutely teeny tiny.

I'm a bit taller than Kate, the vast majority of woman are not my height & the vast majority of women & men don't have the same shape or weight in their 50s as they do in their 20s. The vast majority of people cannot eat what they want & the ones that can when young can't when they get older.

Dull colour, dull style, dull, dull, dull. She is lovely though.

Are you noticeably thinner than when you were in college?

😆

What dress size are you out of interest? Kate must be a 2 or 4 to make Nicole Kidman look plus sized.

iknowwheretheothersockgoes · 27/12/2022 11:44

I think she is stunning and am very jealous of her figure.

I don't buy that this is her natural shape. Look at photos of her at college and uni, she was still slim but nothing like her frame now.

susan12345678 · 27/12/2022 12:03

what does that even mean? How do you define natural? She may have been living on snacks, beer and junk food when she was at Uni, plenty do

I was 9 stone throughout my 20s and then 8 stone for years after my dc were born because I was always dashing about. How can a stranger possibly comment on what is ‘natural’ for someone they don’t know?

peridito · 27/12/2022 12:33

I don't buy that this is her natural shape - I understand this remark .

When she was a student she didn't look fat ,unhealthy or bloated .Which is what I'd expect if she were living on junk food .And honestly ,with her upbringing and social class I doubt she'd have so altered her eating habits .

If she'd always been reed slim throughout her life ,I'd say "yes she's naturally very slender ".But she hasn't .And it's not common to be so slender without watching what you eat and exercising .Which is what I think she does .
Can't say as I blame her considering her position always in the public eye.

susan12345678 · 27/12/2022 12:46

her mother and sister are the same shape. I’m sure she eats a healthy diet but she never looks drawn or hungry to me and she has a very athletic figure with great muscle tone. Some people are just lucky.

They are from a particular social class where women work hard to stay slim. Have a walk round Chelsea...it's full of very slim, toned women. It's not just because those women happen to have that body shape, it's because they work at it. Richer women can afford better, healthier food...they have more time to exercise. They have more money to spend on personal trainers, gyms etc. They have more incentive to be slim... access to gorgeous clothes, lots of holidays, social occasions.

DillDanding · 27/12/2022 12:52

I wasn’t keen on her coat (nor her safe style in general), but she did look very elegant, as usual. Her figure is to die for.

Felt sorry for Louis in his mimsy shorts. But George was also always gussied up
like a little twerp when he was that age.

iknowwheretheothersockgoes · 27/12/2022 13:02

I think it's clear what I meant. I don't think it's difficult to understand.

That you think it’s ‘unnatural’ to have a healthy diet, do plenty of exercise and stay slim? Odd attitude!

DillDanding · 27/12/2022 13:35

I bet she does work at keeping ultra slim. But her whole job is to look good in public and in photos. Why wouldn’t she when she’s under constant scrutiny?

What an awful thing to say about 2 young children.

Not sure why you think her ‘natural weight’ is the one she maintains after dropping a lot of weight just before the wedding. Seen not just just college years but during most of her 20s.

Personally I think she looked better with a bit more weight but maybe the fancy gowns don’t hang as nicely if you aren’t straight up and down 🤷‍♀️

LimeCheesecake · 25/12/2022 19:13

Yes, she wasn’t overweight in her 20s, I always thought she looked healthy and slim, however 20 years on she’s significantly thinner. And even more so in the last year or so. However she’s had what looks like from the outside, a tough couple of years.

Agree. These photos are from when she was in her 20s, she looks great, slim but not startlingly thin like she is now

DillDanding · 27/12/2022 19:05

I don't agree she is 'startlingly' thin. She's definitely thinner than when at uni, but that's the case for most of us. Plus, women's faces get less volume as they age.

Her job is to be a clothes horse and clothes look better on her because she is slim. She certainly looks in the peak of health and not in the least bit 'startling'.

MusicstillonMTV · 27/12/2022 19:11

I honestly don't understand how anyone who doesn't have an eating disorder can possibly look at her and think she isn't startlingly thin. It's most obvious when she is next to other very slim women like Nicole Kidman, Emma Raducanu, her sister..

But there we are.

I agree with you.
When I was at my thinnest, (with an ED) people told me I looked dreadful. I was size zero, before it was a thing here but bought some 0 clothes in the US at the time. I weighed around 7 stone at 5'6". BMI was 18 I think (although I don't really subscribe to that as a measure), which is "officially" underweight.
I did not have glorious bouncy hair and a million dollar smile to counteract it though.
I maintain that she has an ectomorphic body type and that's the basis for everything. She has no hips at all.....
She is I think taller than me, so it might be interesting to know her BMI (fwiw).

WarningToTheCurious · 27/12/2022 20:23

Really? After 2 kids and 30 years I am nowhere near my uni size (BMI then was 21). After losing a stone and still being a stone heavier than my uni days everyone was telling me not to lose any more (BMI 23).

CaptainBarbosa · 27/12/2022 23:02

I'm guessing she's about 5ft8 about 8 and a half stone and very active with workouts and stuff throughout the week.

So yeah she's probably at the very bottom of the healthy BMI for her height, and maybe if stressed or something looses weight.

But her complexion, her hair, all healthy. So she isn't starving herself to maintain this, also look at her muscle tone. Even recently in Boston in the green dress her legs, calfs all good muscle tone on it.

She's tall and slim, has family genetics that make her this tall slim build, her mother and sister are built the same, but they probably do not have the same resources as Catherine even though Pippa is a wealthy woman also, and they also don't have the same pressures to "maintain" as Catherine. So yeah maybe she does exercise more than her mother and sister.

She looks lovely. She's just a tall very slender, but athletic woman.
