Gather here all ye refugees from the JTT Flat Earth Society, welcome to the reassuringly oblate spheroid of MN! Ye all already know the answers to the questions "How the heck do I format my post?" "Why can't I edit my typos?" "What do those acronyms mean?" and most importantly, "Where is everybody that I used to know?"

So really we're all here just to chat randomly.

Glad your feeling better Crows, and am a little jealous you're living near the sea. I love the place I've bought and it's in a beautiful part of Northumbrian countryside but I really miss living by the sea, close enough for walks without having to drive there.

I'm pleased to hear that you're up and about, Oney! Don't overdo it, I did after Covid and it wrecked me for days.

duc748, the reaction to your stout sounds most satisfactory. I hope you were pleased with it.

I'd love to live nearer the sea too, but we're about as far as you can get from the nearest beach.

I'm about 100 yards from the beach. At this time of year, it can be less than ideal.

I dropped the car off for the MOT and they don't do courtesy cars for MOTs. Bus and Metro will take me about 1 hour 20 to get home.

They said that they could do it while I waited. It'll be ready by about 1, if no repairs are needed. Who the Hell wants to wait for four and a half hours? 😆

Is there a nearby cinema? Preferably one showing Bollywood films - they can easily be 3 hours or longer.

I don't know! I got back about 5 minutes ago. I'm feeling a bit nauseous with the back pain and am not looking forward to going to get the car and driving back.

Hi folks. Belated merry Christmas. I got booted off on Christmas Eve after posting a link to a jocular video on the toilets issue. MNHQ thought I was a returning banned poster. All straightened out now but I'm intrigued by my digital doppelganger.

Heh! Well, just one now, hopefully.

My sister came over for Christmas. We ate and drank loads, chatted and watched some TV. Then swore off sweet stuff for a while.

She's gone and bought ice cream and I've baked a sponge cake.

I need to cut down on sugar and refined carbs since I’ve developed PCOS which messes with insulin. I love white rice and sweet things though, it’s really hard. Life feels pointless without biscuits.

Woke up vomiting. Some of the bits look like lumps of tumour and it’s all rather nastily red, but I think it’s just undigested roast beef and red wine. Well, that’s my news, how’s everyone else this New Year’s Eve morning?

I’ve rationalised it away, and have managed to keep down 2 coffees, I’ll live, this time. Think it was eating a massive dinner and going straight to bed afterwards, gravity unable to do its digestive thing.

In case you haven’t heard quite enough yet, our only bathroom is as far from our bedroom as it’s possible to be, so I had to gulp back down a mouthful of sick 3 times on my way down the stairs and through the house. Not quite as much of an achievement as the time I was on my way to work one hungover morning, when I held in a mouthful of sick for nearly 2 stops on the train, rather than get off to vomit and be late for work.

Sorry everyone. I take codeine for sciatica and even after months on it, I still haven’t become immune to its vomiting side-effect.

With all the usual caveats, people who use CBD oil tell me that nothing else touches it for pain relief.
