Gather here all ye refugees from the foundering ship of JTT, if ye be in need of "How the heck do I format my post?" "Why can't I edit my typos?" "What do those acronyms mean?" and most importantly, "Where is everybody that I used to know?"

Or just to chat randomly.

@murasaki big news. Sounds like you have a plan. I took redundancy a few years ago from a job I had had for 7 years. It was scary but worked out in end. In hindsight I wish I had taken more time off but I had not long taken on a mortgage and got a bit spooked.

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 28/11/2022 18:56

Still feels.like a bad break up right know though

<Truism upcoming> The worst break-ups are always the ones where the relationship was really bad, because you have to process all the bad shit as well as the actual break-up.

I am not I think going to miss JTT much at all; the corralling had already got me to a point where The Thread Of Doom plus the dogs thread was literally the only place I ever posted or read, what with being beyond the pale. Which is sad in a way and not-sad in another.

I was just musing earlier that my Official Wrong Thinker status meant that in recent months I've probably spent more time on that thread - posting, reading, following links from it, certainly thinking about it and discussing it with family and friends - than everywhere else on the site combined. I think I will stay around over there for now, as I've said, posting on a handful of football results prediction threads, and following the longstanding Covid and Ukraine threads, but even just based on the weekend and today, I think I'm already here more than there, and that's even with following the post(as in after)-witches threads over there, which won't last forever. Decent post from Popstar about 6 this evening on their lifeboat thread, by the way. He'd had one or two shorter rants over the weekend. I've always really liked him but hadn't really mentally flagged him as being one of the few who would stand up and be counted at a time like this so it was nice to see.

murasaki · 28/11/2022 19:02

@ThucydidesJTT , ah, I remember your situation, in glad that it seems.more positive in both the job and home front well done you.

ThucydidesJTT · 28/11/2022 19:04

Thanks @murasaki

ThucydidesJTT · 28/11/2022 19:05

It was a great post by Popstar.

murasaki · 28/11/2022 19:06

I agree re Popstar. I was surprised but pleased.

I was Fleur but decided to call myself after an Irish triple goddess of war instead.

Ah. The penny drops...

MavisMcMinty · 28/11/2022 19:14

Hello, yes I follow you back but my Twitter account got locked today* for “suspicious activity” and I have neither the email address nor the phone number I used to register. Maybe it was my acerbity to blame…

MavisMcMinty · 28/11/2022 19:16

Ah, that was for Britinme, but apparently you can’t post a message under a message.

Gonners · 28/11/2022 19:20

I've just read Popstar's post (not so easy to find as a visitor, when you've nuked your account in a fit of ghastly female pique) and yes, well done him.

I did notice a couple of mentions on that thread of us having moved to Mumsnet, which may attract unwanted attention from someone with small headgear.

murasaki · 28/11/2022 19:21

Hopefully not. As I hold that person responsible for a fair bit of this.

Fucking hell, I can't think of anything worse than that person (or any of the really nasty Righteous people) coming over here and joining this thread.

I've just flounced from the jttlifeboat site, which must be something of a record.

If the same people who have revealed their nasty side over the last few days are signing up and telling me what I can post then I can really do without their unsolicited advice. It's just too toxic.

Kucinghitam · 28/11/2022 19:35

That was quick. What happened?

ThucydidesJTT · 28/11/2022 19:36

Aye Tass. It's put me off associating with any future JTT community.

MissLawls · 28/11/2022 19:37

Another vote here for that brilliant post by Popstar - no 452 on the lifeboat thread on user space. Absolutely nailed it. And yes I hope the one with the headgear doesn't follow us here. I too hold them partly responsible for what happened.

bignosebignose · 28/11/2022 19:38

Headgear did say he would not be coming over here.

ThucydidesJTT · 28/11/2022 19:39

He'll follow. He's a narcissist whose simply learned to hide it behind flowery language.

Someone who knows nothing about it telling me off for quoting Johnny's first post on that thread, for the sake of board harmony.

And sol arriving.

Kucinghitam · 28/11/2022 19:42

The MN regulars on FWR are very used to dealing with narcissistic self-congratulatory pseudo-intellectual self-righteous sea-lions talking utter bollocks. They'll hand him his arse on a plate.

I am now using the app. Much nicer on the phone.

@TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld what you said about bad break-ups. Very true. Been there. Got the tea set

StephanieSuperpowers · 28/11/2022 19:46

God, it's hard to believe that sol and emo are more in line with what the community wants!

murasaki · 28/11/2022 19:47

I would thoroughly enjoy the nest of vipers schooling headgear boy.

MissLawls · 28/11/2022 19:48

I am now finding it rather amusing those setting themselves up as the guardians of all that is right in the world. I'm sure their lovely, all shiny and new little talk board will be a fantastic success as a boys' own club
