Gather here all ye refugees from the foundering ship of JTT, if ye be in need of "How the heck do I format my post?" "Why can't I edit my typos?" "What do those acronyms mean?" and most importantly, "Where is everybody that I used to know?"

Or just to chat randomly.

Hello all. I occasionally posted on THAT thread but was mostly a lurker.

It's made me quite annoyed seeing certain other contributers to the thread (in a drive by or a high handed manner) attempting to rewrite history, and worse, having their version of events accepted.

Kucinghitam · 28/11/2022 16:51

having their version of events accepted

Ah, but they have a number of incredibly salient characteristics which caused this to happen, namely (1) being a man and (2) identifying as being Righteous.

To be fair, the site may not close down now that only Good People remain there? Or is it a done deal?

One possibly unintended consequence of the Ultimatum is that people are busily scrabbling around seeking a better ownership/ management solution than one bloke being able to pull the plug on a whim. So it may not be his decision in the end.

StephanieSuperpowers · 28/11/2022 17:02

I was amused to see one such thread fan opine that, despite his repeated assurances that he was completely open minded and had no fixed opinion and in fact leaned GC originally, our contributions pushed him the other way, on the path of righteousness.

MissLawls · 28/11/2022 17:04

People can do general chat anywhere if needed, but the care/cancer/depression/rehab/sen etc threads have been quite literally lifelines for people and they should have notice to gather their community and make altenative arrangements.

Exactly. I hope I don't sound pompous. Actually I don't care if I sound pompous. He has a duty of care. He created a forum some people have found to be a real lifeline. To just end it shows wanton lack of regard to say the very least. I'm quietly furious about this.

ThucydidesJTT · 28/11/2022 17:13

On that can people still on JTT make sure those threads get a link to the main lifeboat.

MavisMcMinty · 28/11/2022 17:18

Hello everyone, mancurse/macnurse here!

dollymixedup · 28/11/2022 17:26

Hello my people. Pinkgum here.

Nice to have a chat thread.

Tricyrtis2022 · 28/11/2022 17:33

Hello new/old people!

Britinme · 28/11/2022 18:23

Mavis I follow you on Twitter and invariably enjoy the acidity of your tweets.

TheMorrigans · 28/11/2022 18:31

Do most of you know who I am, or should I revert back to my JtT username?

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 28/11/2022 18:33

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 28/11/2022 16:44

It might not. But given the continued revivals of the topic in all the site discussion threads, I'll be surprised if JtS considers the pitchfork wielding mob to have been sufficiently effective.

<guilty arf>

I've been scratching my head! New starts are good though.

I have not got a clue, but have been hesitating to say so in case it seemed rude ...

Splatterwack · 28/11/2022 18:39

I've slightly changed my name just now on here - too confusing if the names are too different - can't possibly remember all the new names! Which reminds me, must find the menopause board...

TheMorrigans · 28/11/2022 18:40

I was Fleur but decided to call myself after an Irish triple goddess of war instead.

Oh dear I know the feeling. Can you remember where you had it last? 😂

murasaki · 28/11/2022 18:43

For those ex Losters who remember me chuntering on about work, I've just pressed the send button on my voluntary severance request. After 17 years. This and the JTT thing at the same time are proving most discombobulating. A brave new world indeed.

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 28/11/2022 18:43

WE HAVE EMOJIS, PEOPLE. WE HAVE EMOJIS.

ThucydidesJTT · 28/11/2022 18:44

Good luck Murasaki.

Are you looking for a new career or is it early retirement?

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 28/11/2022 18:45

Gosh Mel - was not on Lost but crumbs, that's a Big Thing. Power to your elbow with it.

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 28/11/2022 18:45

(I was spartacus but for obvious reasons it would make an utterly crap Mumsnet name ...)

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 28/11/2022 18:47

I am not I think going to miss JTT much at all; the corralling had already got me to a point where The Thread Of Doom plus the dogs thread was literally the only place I ever posted or read, what with being beyond the pale. Which is sad in a way and not-sad in another.

murasaki · 28/11/2022 18:48

Thanks, sadly will have to get a new job, but if they take it I get a year's salary, 30k tax free, so have some time. I'll be 108 before I can get my hands on my rapidly decreasing Higher Education pension! I don't know re new field, am planning on doing some studying for pleasure with the OU while I look around. Which will be a kick in the teeth to my current employers, and amuse me. Hey ho. Still feels.like a bad break up right know though.

ThucydidesJTT · 28/11/2022 18:51

Well best wishes. I had a similar plan but abusive behaviour by family led me to decamp the family home and I've burned through my severance. Have a new job, just waiting for a start date.
