Love these threads for getting dinner ideas. I'll start. We're having chinese chicken fried rice, using some of the whole chicken we roasted this morning.

What are you having?

I was on this thread earlier but have name changed. Not for this post, it's nothing that controversial. Tonight is egg on toast and salad and then I think doughnuts.

We have to use up and plenty of onions as I bought a bag on offer, so will do a large frittata and add whatever else I fancy at the time (we've got a couple of tomatoes, peppers, sweetcorn and broccoli in). DH likes his with a slice of bread.

Tonight it's chicken Kyiv, dauphinois potatoes, tenderstem broccoli and peas .

Why do you get fed in work? Are there jobs going?

They have a caterer that comes in 3 times a day with food, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'm only a receptionist so don't get breakfast or lunch but they always make sure everyone has a dinner to eat or take home. TBH saves me a fortune, so i'm not complaining.

Crispy salmon bowl here with lots of sesame dressing, sushi rice, kale, avocado, onsen egg, red pepper and mango. Getting v excited as I've just eaten an NHS hummus and bean sandwich. That's like a cream cheese and cheddar sandwich, double whammy.

Violettaa · 01/11/2022 16:02

Thai red curry with tofu and whatever veg we have hanging about. Yuuuuuuuuuuum.

ThreeRingCircus · 01/11/2022 16:14

Steak fajitas. I cannot wait!

ilovemotorways · 01/11/2022 16:16

Chicken breast cooked in nandos style seasoning with roasted veg and some mash potato for DH (I'm low carbing so just chicken and veg for me)
Can't wait!

Decafflatteplease · 01/11/2022 16:29

Chicken fajitas here, a weekly staple in our house!

Decafflatteplease · 01/11/2022 16:29

Last night was bacon brocolli lemon spaghetti

tigerbear · 01/11/2022 16:40

I’m making turkey mince meatballs with tomato, red pepper, spinach, courgette sauce, and either mash or pasta.

ShortKipper · 01/11/2022 16:43

Fish, green chilli and aubergine claypot with rice.

cptartapp · 01/11/2022 16:45

Roast pork, chips, carrots, broccoli, yorkshire puds and gravy.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 01/11/2022 16:47

Just me tonight!

I’m going to peel a couple of spuds and make some chips. Grill some halloumi, garlic, onions and leper’s.

Might have some ice cream with a flake!

LoliLouToo · 01/11/2022 16:49

Baked miso aubergines, roasted sweet potato and carrots with feta and yoghurt dressing, shirazi salad, flatbread, hummus.

FelicityFidget · 01/11/2022 16:51

Chicken casserole with dumplings, shredded stir fry sprouts, and steamed broccoli Grin

catscatscurrantscurrants · 01/11/2022 16:53

Cauliflower cheese - I learned how to make it recently (I can't believe I didn't do that years ago!) and it's delicious.

riotlady · 01/11/2022 16:59

Salmon, roasted broccoli and soy noodles

crackofdoom · 01/11/2022 17:07

Wow, people eat a lot of chicken, don't they!

I'm low carbing AND on a 5:2 fast day today, so it's been a 5- egg spinach omelette with a small amount of cheese (the only meal of the day).

Have hit a wall re the kids' dinner, so I'm trying to get DS1 to make it. In which case it'll probably be pancakes with ratatouille and cheese.

As a (normally) stodge loving vegetarian with a big bed of leeks on my allotment I am entranced by the concept of leek pudding. Bloody hell though, 6 hours steaming? Are there any shortcuts for this process?

And dd made profiteroles for pudding.

Doihavetogotoworkdotcom1 · 01/11/2022 20:49

I had swede, carrot and onion mashed with a bit of cheese on top.

Violettaa · 01/11/2022 21:30

So ours was supposed to be Thai tofu curry, but it turned out we had paneer instead. And we had a very odd assortment of vegetables.

Indian protein + Thai sauce is weird, I’ve discovered.
