Love these threads for getting dinner ideas. I'll start. We're having chinese chicken fried rice, using some of the whole chicken we roasted this morning.

What are you having?

Ha ha @Mrsjayy It wasn't curry, it is bolognaise sauce.

Baked rice with sweet potato and broccoli, from The Green Roasting Tin. This book is excellent, even if you are not vegetarian or vegan.

Therealjudgejudy · 24/10/2022 18:40

Just lemon water unfortunately as Monday is my fast day.

Love these kinda threads though. Lots of inspiration for tomorrow's dinner

Noelfieldingsjumpers · 24/10/2022 18:48

Roast chicken, pigs in blankets that were reduced, roast potatoes, mash potatoes, roast parsnips, peas, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, swede, bread sauce, gravy. I'm so excited!

Purplehonesty2 · 24/10/2022 18:49

We had creamy fish pie with broccoli and cauliflower mash and cheese -low carb

The kids had fish finger tiktok pie and loved it.

I got rescued lemon cheesecake and reduced raspberries on the way home so will make a coulis in a bit. 😋

@lmnabc - I have a good recipe using turkey mince if you are interested

elephantbreathing · 24/10/2022 19:01

Home made meatballs in tomato sauce with spaghetti. Not terribly exciting but delicious.

Whistlesandbell · 24/10/2022 19:02

Sounds like it’s meatball Monday.

I roasted a chicken yesterday and was planning on using the leftovers to make another dinner tonight, like a chicken pie or something, but we just had cold chicken sandwiches!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

idonotmind · 24/10/2022 21:11

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie @Mrsweasleysclock
Leek pudding is suet pastry, same as for steak and kidney pudding, but just filled with sliced leeks, salt, pepper and a bit of butter, and steamed. I do mine in the slow cooker and it's lovely.

Mines pretty similar, made it into a roly poly with grated chedder. I steamed for a bit then baked.

Thanks for the leek pudding info. it sounds delicious but not sure I CBA with steaming.

Tonight is Brussel sprout thoran and a vegetable dhansak (cauliflower, butternut squash, carrots, pepper, chickpeas, pineapple) with chapatis.

TheChosenTwo · 25/10/2022 12:55

Tonight we are having chicken and ham pie with leftovers from Sundays roast chicken and last nights baked ham.
Some will have mash with theirs aswell as the veg, I’ll just have the veg and pie. Delicious.

LovelyBitOfSquirrel69 · 25/10/2022 13:14

Will continue with tonight's dinner...spag bol (home made) from the freezer as tonight is gym night and we need something we can quickly cook when we get back.

I have an easy tea on a Tuesday as I have a fitness class until 7.30pm and can’t really be bothered cooking afterwards!

Tonight is going to be chicken, broccoli and noodles (with chilli / garlic / soy sauce, etc)

Super quick but I feel like I’ve made an effort 🤣

trampoline123 · 25/10/2022 14:21

I've got the 2 toddlers home today so need to feed them, and FIL coming for dinner later so I'm making:

Sausages
Yorkies
Roast veg of potato, sweet potato, carrots, parsnips
Cauliflower cheese
Gravy

BlancmanegeBunny · 25/10/2022 14:27

I've got a massive pot of chilli simmering in my slow cooker. We will have some tonight, and loads will be left to put in the freezer.

Whenever I cook chilli / curry / bolognese / stews etc I like to make a big batch and fill the freezer! That way we have lots of meals in stock ready to go!
