Nearly 53, definitely menopausal...or pregnant???

I know it doesn't sound possible but I'm being sick, can't stand the smell of my husband, have terrible headaches and am craving rice. I never eat rice! Also I can't bear tea and I normally drink gallons of it!
It must be a virus, right? No-one my age could possibly be preggers?

Good luck op !

I think my bodies last ditch attempt was when I was 44 and that didn't end well - but fingers crossed for you!

Ladgrags · 21/10/2022 12:18

I thought I was starting with the menopause… currently feeding my ‘menopause baby’. Good luck op!

Why would anyone want to be pregnant at 53 😩

For some people it might be the first time they've got pregnant?

Menopausal here and the symptoms can be quite similar bit I had a bug a few weeks ago (not covid) but went off tea as it tasted metallic.

emevol · 21/10/2022 12:20

Ohh amazing! Good luck - I hope it's the result you want 🥰

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 21/10/2022 12:20

Just Chuck a test in with your supermarket shop. Are they still on the shelf or do they get nicked?

thejadefish · 21/10/2022 12:17

Well there was that lady (Dawn Brooke?) who had a natural pregnancy at 59. EXTREMELY unlikely of course but def possible!

Still SO wrong on every level, and in soooo many ways.

justwondering123456 · 21/10/2022 12:21

Hope it's the result you want xx keeping everything crossed

Sockbogies · 21/10/2022 12:22

My Covid booster made me feel nauseous and I had a weird metallic taste in my mouth for a few days. Have you had that recently? My symptoms lasted about a week.

WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps · 21/10/2022 12:07

Why?! Confused

Just to make sure, apparently!

Oddly enough, I wasn't pregnant.

WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps · 21/10/2022 12:24

@Cassavaflower

I really want it to be positive now...!!!

@Meili04

Why would anyone want to be pregnant at 53?! 😩

@Chikapu

I'm 53 and honestly can't think of anything worse. Sleepless nights, poop, crying...nightmare.

@CredibilityProblem

Carrying a pregnancy to term and bringing home a healthy baby at that age is extraordinarily rare.

@kittensinthekitchen

You want a baby at 53/54? The chances of a successful, healthy pregnancy at that age is slim.

Exactly. The thought of of is both farcical and horrific at the same time!

@Cassavaflower

You are NOT serious. No WAY would anyone actively choose to have a baby at 54... Wink

PrioritiseCalm · 21/10/2022 12:24

I'm definitely not pregnant but am peri & my husband has started smelling weird too! Wtf?! I didn't put it down to this. Is that a peri thing?!

Eselch · 21/10/2022 12:24

Blimey. Good luck OP!

PrioritiseCalm · 21/10/2022 12:24

Also, what's the result op?!?!?!! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

PetalLeaves · 21/10/2022 12:25

Good luck OP!

Happymominusa · 21/10/2022 12:26

Birth control masks the symptoms of menopause and creates artificial periods. So you may or may not be in menopause or peri menopause. Guess you will find out at 52.

Bourbanbiscuit · 21/10/2022 12:27

Good luck

Intelligenthair · 21/10/2022 12:27

God, I was hoping to be past this at 45, this thread is terrifying me 😂

Coffeetree · 21/10/2022 12:29

Bless you OP, hope it's the result you want.

hiredandsqueak · 21/10/2022 12:31

You are the same age as me just about and I can think of nothing worse than being pregnant now. If it's negative and you are disappointed, then you need to borrow a toddler grandson to rid you of this idea Wink

heathspeedwell · 21/10/2022 12:32

My aunty had a healthy baby at 50, she assumed it was menopause when her periods stopped and she started putting on weight. My beautiful cousin is now 21 and the apple of her eye! I think having a child at that age has helped to keep her young and fit, they have so much fun together. (My uncle had had a vasectomy but obviously not a very successful one!).

Thighdentitycrisis · 21/10/2022 12:32

I’m waiting for an update now…..

Mummapenguin20 · 21/10/2022 12:34

Hope you get the result you want

slashlover · 21/10/2022 12:34

Littledidsheknow · 21/10/2022 10:30

I bought one a couple of years ago (at age 50). I mumbled something about it being for my daughter to avoid any embarrassment/judginess! Blush

Good luck, OP

Just to reassure you both, nobody who works in a supermarket cares what you're buying unless the till flashes up that it's an age restricted product.
