I know it doesn't sound possible but I'm being sick, can't stand the smell of my husband, have terrible headaches and am craving rice. I never eat rice! Also I can't bear tea and I normally drink gallons of it!
It must be a virus, right? No-one my age could possibly be preggers?

But to be faced with 18 years of another dependent

Wish it was only 18 years!

If you do have a period after a year you must get it checked out. Your GP will refer you to be seen on the 2 week pathway.

Thank you I will definitely keep that in mind.

I'm 52 and getting extremely sick of my regular as clockwork periods and zero sign of menopause ...

I'd had enough 10 years ago, thanks, Mother Nature.

I'm a year younger and got very excited in August when I missed a period for the first time not due to pregnancy! My Mum had her last period at 55.

It'll be much more difficult to support your child through uni if you're receiving your pension, that's for sure

I’m 47 and have been told I’m post menopausal but have another 6 weeks to reach my one year mark. I’m counting down the days until I can ditch the contraception, as getting pregnant at my age would be my worst nightmare come true.

I would also pick up a covid test whilst your there op, as I have had these symptoms with both covid and menopause.

NOTANUM · 21/10/2022 13:22

I am blatantly place marking.

I has similar symptoms with Covid.

ghostsandpumpkinsalready · 21/10/2022 13:22

I had a surprise baby at 41 after years of no periods due to severe pcos. I was sterilised at the same time but ever since her birth my periods are regular as clockwork 😡
I'm 48 now and hoping auntie flo pisses off soon I actually want to go through the menopause 🤣

sazzy5 · 21/10/2022 13:22

Good luck

AlwaysLatte · 21/10/2022 13:24

If you can't stand the smell of your husband how did you get pregnant?
Sorry... unlikely though, maybe a menopause/bug thing running concurrently? Hope you feel better soon!

LokiDokiArtichoki · 21/10/2022 13:24

My mum had regular periods up to age 61 and wasn’t said to be through the menopause until 68. She was prescribed contraception throughout.

JoanOfAllTrades · 21/10/2022 13:26

I am fully through menopause and the GP checked all my hormone levels and I’m definitely infertile. I’m also on the MHRT patch as the symptoms were indescribable!

Hot sweats? Ha! I looked like I was walking around under a storm cloud that no-one could see, that just rained on me constantly! I was having these sweats for THREE YEARS, and the GP I was seeing then, kept telling me I was too young for the menopause (I was 47) and then a new GP joined and I saw him and he was horrified as I sat in his extremely nice air conditioned office with sweat rolling off me. He immediately put me in the hormone patch and sent me to see a lovely lady GP at a sister practice and I haven’t had sweating like that since!

As a nurse, I would say that if you’re having periods, you’re fertile. You have to be period free for ONE YEAR, before you can be considered as starting menopause. Once you’re infertile (blood tests determine this), you’re considered to have passed through menopause, even though you might still have symptoms. The symptoms are simply your body trying to cope with the loss of the hormones.

I wouldn’t be without my patches now, they are literally a lifesaver. I just wish that first GP hadn’t have been so dismissive of my symptoms!

WilsonMilson · 21/10/2022 13:29

Jeez, I don’t know what if do if I became pregnant again now (45), I’m knackered enough as it is. I do wish I’d had another one sooner though, but life happens and the time wasn’t right. Feel far too old now.

Good luck for whatever you want the result to be op!

I can't see a line but your cameras focussed on your hand, not the test.

OhNoOhDearOh · 21/10/2022 13:40

@AlwaysLatte presumably the hating the smell of him came AFTER they shagged.

AlwaysLatte · 21/10/2022 13:41

Surely that's pretty obvious if it's a pregnancy symptom
