We haven't here.
It still doesn't feel cold enough in the house for me. Although ours neighbours is on (which probably keeps us warmer).

Not yet, Eastern Scotland. Will stick it out until it gets really cold.

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 18/10/2022 18:25

Nope. Turned our thermostat right down, not kicked in yet. Blankets / hot water bottles / layers are applied as required! Kids oodies have been invaluable.

Worthyornot · 18/10/2022 18:33

Ours has been on since 2 weeks ago. Feel miserable being cold.

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 18/10/2022 18:49

Nope. South east here. Sat in the garden in my T-shirt for lunch today as it was 20 degrees.

Roselilly36 · 18/10/2022 18:50

Not yet still very mild weather in East Anglia

I had to. The house was damp.

I'm terrified about this. Is that because of the age of the house?

tandmoo · 18/10/2022 19:06

We haven't yet

When it's cold enough we will

primeoflife · 18/10/2022 19:06

Ours still isn't kicking in 🤷🏼‍♀️. I'm wondering if we've a dodgy thermostat

Lawandsawdus · 18/10/2022 19:08

Have a few days for a couple of hours but definitely not at the moment as lovely. My flat (rented) doesn’t get warm from the sun at all though so when I’m working I’m in a hoodie with then go out in short sleeves.

Shitfather · 18/10/2022 19:18

Too warm in London currently. I plan to get through November before even thinking about it.

Possibly. The kids clothes were damp when I took them out of their wardrobe. I put the hall radiator on and not the living room. I wouldn't have done that before but the heat in the hall keeps the edge off the other rooms and we have heated throws in the living room.

whenwillthemadnessend · 18/10/2022 08:07

For an hour first thing. That's it. Tho the last two days it hasn't kicked in as house still 18.

Same here

GreenWhiteViolet · 18/10/2022 19:39

Still haven't. It's 17 degrees during the day, so not bad. If I feel a bit of a chill I put on an extra layer - shawl or fleecy top.

WeeblesWibbleWobble · 18/10/2022 19:46

Once because the childminder was here and feels the cold. We've avoided it. Lowest its dropped to is 14

Comedycook · 18/10/2022 20:05

I buy special sachets which absorb the damp. I keep one in each of the drawers which hold clothes and the wardrobes. You can see them fill up with water over time...they really do work.

IntentionalError · 18/10/2022 20:18

Yes. We live in Leicestershire and the weather here has been absolutely glorious this week, 17C and sunny, so there is no need at all to have the heating on. It’s currently 21c in our house. It was cold here in the last week of September so we had it on then, but not since.

Thank you

Notjustabrunette · 18/10/2022 21:07

Nope, and still have summer duvet on the bed.

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 18/10/2022 22:16

I wonder how long we can hold out! I just used to thoughtlessly flick it on before whenever it got a bit chilly. Now I feel it a bit but still the rosy glow from saving on energy costs compensates for that! I’m popping layers on and seeing how long I can leave it. I think I’m getting used to it. Looking forward to snuggling up in bed with my bottle ❤️

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 18/10/2022 22:16

Hot water not gin!!

GG1986 · 18/10/2022 22:38

Nope we haven't yet. South west and coping ok right now.

Lzzyisgod · 18/10/2022 22:44

No but its been mild and the temp in the house hasn't dropped below 17 degs c.

We even went camping at the weekend 😁

RaininSummer · 18/10/2022 23:01

Warm enough here to not need it yet. South west

Rupertgrintismyguiltypleasure · 18/10/2022 23:06

Absolutely not!

  1. it’s still 17/18 during the day and not even dropped that much at night
  2. weve never put the heating on unless the house goes down to 12 and even then it’s usually only on for an hour to bring it up a few degrees.
  3. it’s been 19 in the house for the last 2 weeks.

it’s jumpers and duvets if your cold in this house and then if it’s super cold and many of us are in agreement.. then it will go on... but only if it’s below 12 😜

KitKatKit · 18/10/2022 23:09

Yep, it's on for 90mins at 6.30am and then another 90 mins at 5.30pm.
I don't live in a new build in the SE 🙄
