No. It's a bonkers new trend

DramaAlpaca · 17/10/2022 23:08

No. What a silly idea.

YourWinter · 17/10/2022 23:08

I find the photos of families in matching pyjamas a display of too much spare cash quite honestly. Give the money to charity instead
Excuse my grumpiness. I've just been trying to repair a shitty broken sink pipe which my husband installed badly and now he's fucked off working away for the week.

We don't put photos of ours anywhere, but plenty of people buy new PJ's for Christmas. We wear them all year.

Salamander91 · 17/10/2022 23:10

No. We all get new pjs on Christmas eve (tradition I picked up from my mum) but I just buy ones they will like and can wear all year around. Not that they would have any issue wearing Christmas pjs in July

IHateWasps · 17/10/2022 23:10

BTW. I know that we all need our little things to lift our mood, especially now, but is it really too much to at least put the pyjamas in a clothing bin so that they haven't been entirely wasted?

I did in 2020 when the family was in 4 houses due to the pandemic and we all met by Zoom but very much a 1 off (20 people , 4 dogs and a cat)

To add- they are all still being worn! (except the puppy- just about fits around his leg now )

Charlize43 · 17/10/2022 23:22

Pyjamas? No, never. I always sleep naked.

Nsky62 · 17/10/2022 23:23

No Chanel No5?

PickAChew · 17/10/2022 23:27

No. How wasteful would that be?

So do I, as does DP, however it is nice to wear them when lounging about relaxing over the festive period.

Season0fTheWitch · 17/10/2022 23:34

Yes, DH, SIL and I all have a Christmas eve eve sleepover with matching PJs. It's good fun, we take it in turns each year to pick. DH and I buy each other a nice pair each year too

Whizzi24 · 17/10/2022 23:37

No, none of us own Christmas pyjamas. I have a couple of friends who do this - whole new family sets each year. They post photos of the family on Xmas Eve. I really don't see the point and I've never asked them if they ever wear them again (the adults must have so many pairs now!). They seem happy enough though.

lannistunut · 17/10/2022 23:41

Mrsmch123 · 17/10/2022 22:50

I bin them as they normally shrink from being in the tumble dryer......

Fucking hell, that's grim.

I know there are lots of thoughtless people wrt the environment but just merrily doing that is so depressing.

ncncncnc123 · 17/10/2022 23:41

I buy matching pyjamas every year at Christmas, but not actual Christmas ones. Ones the kids will wear for as long as they fit and obviously ours for as long as they last. Then we can wear them all year round.

Bobbins36 · 17/10/2022 23:41

God no.

Luredbyapomegranate · 17/10/2022 23:48

No.

I’d rather freeze in hell than wear pyjamas, never mind match them to anyone. I am pretty sure the rest of my family would take a similar view
