I’ll have a go if you like. I have got a fucking clue what I’m doing but apparently that’s not an issue these days.

I actually think I'd be good at it.

I'm obviously not an expert but am very financially prudent.

perseverence · 14/10/2022 12:40

Martin Lewis.

CloudPop · 14/10/2022 12:40

@Boshi please God no.

citroenpresse · 14/10/2022 12:41

Maybe she'll hear the siren call of Lord Frost...

Fireflygal · 14/10/2022 12:41

She told them exactly what she planned, exactly what she was going to do and they all voted for her. Why are they all so angry now?

Liz was voted in by tory party members - they are responsible as Sunak told them her approach would cause financial meltdown. They chose to believe her, probadly because they believed she was Margaret Thatcher Mark 2.

It was obvious to absolutely everyone else that she wasn't up for the job.

The tory members need to realise they are gullible.

I thought I heard Kwasi Kwateng saying he wasn't going anywhere this morning on the news. I think saying that in the political world is tempting fate.

They always say that, right before they are sacked/ resign.

ComtesseDeSpair · 14/10/2022 12:42

I’m beginning to think government should be done in the same basis as jury service. Pick members of the public out of a hat, we’ll all have a go for a couple of weeks. I’m not convinced the outcome would be worse.

Meadowbreeze · 14/10/2022 12:43

@Fireflygal exactly!

Sophie1980 · 14/10/2022 12:43

I thought I heard Kwasi Kwateng saying he wasn't going anywhere this morning on the news.

It's equal to "he has the full support of the Cabinet/Prime minister/Tea Lady/ Whoever".

Topseyt123 · 14/10/2022 12:44

Truss should go too. She's been even more shit than Teresa May was. All of these were her policies and now that they have failed she is sacking everyone else.

Stupid.

flingingmelon · 14/10/2022 12:44

Tiny question.

So when they get the next person in and they also have to do all sorts of ultra shitty things because the entire euro zone is deep in the crap - are we just going to fire them too?

OldieButBaddie · 14/10/2022 12:44

I think it's time to bring back Chris Grayling. Surely even he would appear vaguely competent in the company of this bunch of cunts...

KangarooKenny · 14/10/2022 12:25

He’s gone !

I love finding out my news from mumsnet 😂😀

flingingmelon · 14/10/2022 12:45

I'm no LT or KK fan but I hope no one is expecting much of this to actually get fixed.

derxa · 14/10/2022 12:46

perseverence · 14/10/2022 12:40

Martin Lewis.

I can't stand that bloody man.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/10/2022 12:46

Odds on Truss still being PM by Christmas?

This is like Musical Chairs. Soon there won't be a Tory MP who hasn't had a go at running one of the world's largest economies. 😱

Sixsmith · 14/10/2022 12:47

Kwasi should have stayed under the sea with the rest of the Octonauts. A cat has not business being chancellor

Concernednan456 · 14/10/2022 12:47

My youngest son. He’s still in primary school and has ASD but he’s good at maths and has far more empathy and insight into the lives of real people than any one of those numpties in Parliament ! I honestly think the only way for the country to benefit from a government that isn’t self serving and corrupt would be if there were no parties and politics and instead it operated like jury duty. Professionals from education, social care , health care and finance etc get randomly selected aged 60 to do a five year stint as a member of the government . They keep their salaries but do government business instead of their management roles. Most of those professionals will have started on the ground so that people making decisions about healthcare have actually worked on the wards , people revising social care policies have actually been social workers etc
take all the corruption out of it and give a voice back to the average working class person.

TheHouseonHauntedHill · 14/10/2022 12:48

Someone whose an expert in market's needs it seeing as it's the market's who are actually in charge!

Sophie1980 · 14/10/2022 12:49

He has gone

TheHouseonHauntedHill · 14/10/2022 12:49

Concerned I totally agree.

They need voices from the bottom and people in real jobs.
Even where I work the slt have very little clue as to what's going on ,on the ground!
If they would only reach out to staff on the front lines!

ClaudineClare · 14/10/2022 12:53

Meadowbreeze · 14/10/2022 12:04

I am clueless when it comes to politics so my apologies if this is stupid but can somewhere answer this for me?
Lizz was so honest during this campaign. Unusually honest in fact, for a politician it seems. She told them exactly what she planned, exactly what she was going to do and they all voted for her. Why are they all so angry now? She's literally done exactly what she said she would which was, as I understand, why the public was a bit worried about her.
Why does kwasi have to lose his job for this? I'm genuinely confused.

Only about a third of MPs voted for her. It was the party members who voted her in against Sunak.

SafferUpNorth · 14/10/2022 12:55

OMG, he's gone! Thanks for the news update, mumsnetters!

As much as I'd like to breathe a sigh of relief, I fear that he's largely a scapegoat. The real architect of this chaos is still office.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 14/10/2022 12:57

Liz Truss should fall on her sword already - talk about leaving someone out to dry

EasterIssland · 14/10/2022 13:01

What a crap image she’s giving to her leadership
