The horses are incredibly highly trained before they’re let loose on public parades so none of these are novices. However they are sentient beings and have off days like the best of us. If a horse doesn’t want to do something, you can’t force it. At Trooping of the Colour the naughty ones are quietly taken out of the parade but there’s limited scope to do that here so it’s “kick on” and hope for the best!

I dont know anything about horses, what do you do if your horse decides it's not going to behave itself? Do you leave the procession somehow before the horse majorly kicks off? Or are thse horses so well behaved that that just never happens? They're so big, I imagine one could dk a lot of damage if it had a mind to

I have seen them leave before, yes.

Excellent! Hope you’ve got all your jobs done!

I believe the ladies mentioned earlier (who are in the funeral processions) are seniors in the royal household: Vice Chamberlain of the Household and the Comptroller of the Household.

Sunbird24 · 19/09/2022 15:46

The carpets of flowers are beautiful

I have - dog walked and back home! Ran into quite a number of dog owners doing the same.

The horsehair plumes, you mean? Household Cavalry or Household Division.

Oh dammit. Queen's favourite horse waiting for her and I need a tissue.
