Thank you @TokyoSushi will keep watching.

I think it's safe to say the Queens family and the national have done her proud 👑💖

LIZS · 19/09/2022 14:56

Was that the Royal barge on the river Thames at Runnymede?

bellac11 · 19/09/2022 14:55

Is there a clip of the naval rating (whats a rating?)

Non-officer rank.

Andante57 · 19/09/2022 14:56

Oh I didny realise one of them.was poorly? Was that during the parade? How awful for them.

I didn’t spot him either but an eagle-eyed poster noticed one of them being supported by his comrades.

I don’t think Charles lll will have a comparable funeral, it’s the 70 years reign that makes this so special.

Was George VI funeral more low key to this today then?

pagopago · 19/09/2022 14:56

found the most moving part to be when she was loaded into the hearse, followed by the National Anthem as she left London for the last time.

Also, I noticed Princess Eugenie leave the service towards the end, before everyone else. She left her seat, causing those in the front row to look around concerned.

GoingOnce · 19/09/2022 14:58

We are just back from watching the hearse go by close to Chiswick roundabout. It was so moving. It travels quite quickly so we didn’t see it for long but it was a beautiful image. I found myself spontaneously giving a little bow which I instantly regretted as it meant I only had a fleeting glimpse of the coffin. However, it was gleaming and so clear, the orb and sceptre shining and the crown took my breath away.

i kept telling the children they would have this memory forever. I think they’re fed up of me saying that this past week!! Grin

Although I would never consider myself a royalist, I have been saddened by the Queens passing. But when the procession began, the bagpipes and the ethereal music im not ashamed to say I did have a cry. It was so incredibly beautifully done. I can’t imagine the planning and stress that has gone into this day, everyone involved has been simply exemplary.

I don't know, but he was special because of the war.

BruceAndNosh · 19/09/2022 15:00

I have to admit, a big sigh of relief that no security breaches in London

I cannot stand all the marching about in uniform - I know it's all very colourful, but it has such a military air - wouldn't want anything like that at my funeral.

Military funeral having a military air - who'd have thought?! 🙄

i agree,
i did manage not to cry but it was a close call at that point

I think throwing flowers AT the hearse is dreadful. In front of, in the wake of, but hitting the hearse and the police cyclists is ridiculous. Not lovely at all, IMO.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 19/09/2022 14:27

The Edinburgh one was more personal imo. However I have enjoyed, for want of a better word, them both

I agree with that, about Edinburgh. The London procession was really impreesive though.

I know!
They wouldn't have thrown flowers at The Queen when she was alive, why do it when she's dead?

GuyFawkesDay · 19/09/2022 15:02

The Parry "my soul there is a country" had me choking up when I sang it so I nearly did have a little cry but it was done so beautifully.

And I can't get through Love Divine as it's been instrumental in a lot of funerals I have been to ( old fashioned Methodist family, lots of Wesley!)

MrsLargeEmbodied · 19/09/2022 15:04

yes i worry about the flowers on the hearse, seems unnecessary to me

I agree, especially if they are endangering the outriders. Having said that, there was something rather extraordinary about the sight of the flowers all over the bonnet of the hearse.

MelodyPondsMum · 19/09/2022 15:05

I'm glad I've watched it. It's been so well organised and it's been lovely to see so many people lining the route.

blobby10 · 19/09/2022 15:05

pagopago I noticed Eugenie leave suddenly too- I think she’s pregnant - thought that when they were looking at the flowers ar balmoral. No idea why I think that btw 😁😁

TokyoSushi · 19/09/2022 15:05

Imaging living in one of those houses there and this going on in your street - amazing!

Romeiswheretheheartis · 19/09/2022 15:06

Throwing flowers at the hearse started with Diana didn't it - I remember the driver of her hearse having to use the wipers to get them all off the window so he could see.

I agree. I did actually worry in case one smacked a rider

Andante57 · 19/09/2022 15:06

Look at the mounted soldiers coming up behind.

BruceAndNosh · 19/09/2022 15:07

I'm surprised no one has brushed flowers off while hearse is stationary
