Fabulous wasn’t it? It’s once in a lifetime. None of us will see anything like it again.

I know that Princess Anne is in the first car with her behind the hearse but where's the rest of the Royal Family?

Windsor

It really was. And at the end, the sun shone.

JustLyra · 19/09/2022 14:26

And Anne and Charles have been beyond amazing. Dedication personified.

whilst I agree, I think it’s a shame in all the praise for Charles and Anne that Edward and Sophie often don’t get mentioned.

They’ve been here, there and everywhere this week and haven’t stopped. All whilst juggling the toughness of seeing their teenagers in the midst of everything (I think that vigil was quite possible harder for Sophie than her children)

PeppaPigIsBacon · 19/09/2022 14:26

Who travelled in the front of the actual hearse? Saw someone with medals getting in.

This has been so lovely. I’m in Edinburgh and I’m so glad we had our time with her. But London! Wow. You know how to do this. Now it’s lovely to see all the people lining the streets.

The Edinburgh one was more personal imo. However I have enjoyed, for want of a better word, them both

LondonWolf · 19/09/2022 14:27

I saw her 🥰 had to wrestle my way for a spot though but got there just in time.

Earl Spencer, where?

I've often wondered how close that side are to William and Harry.

He was one of the Queen’s godchildren

HoneyFlowers · 19/09/2022 14:22

I wondered that too, what if the younger children needed a wee, what would they do? It's been a long day so far.

Well, I assume it was worked out that they wouldn’t. I’d expect most people to be able to hold their bladder for a few hours. Or they could have been wearing pull-ups…

They’re in a fast moving convoy going a more direct route than the hearse.

Yes. They were both special in their own right.

I mean I'm hoping to outlive Charlie 😳 seen as I'm 40years younger than him!! 😂

I should realistically see 2 state funerals (The Queen and Charles III)

2 coronations (Charles III and William)

Be touch and go who outlives who between me and William. 😂

LIZS · 19/09/2022 14:29

Royal Standard flying at Windsor. Nice job with carpets of flowers on the Long Walk and by the chapel. Sir David Attenborough is present.

They've been fantastic, too. Absolutely.

But for two people in their seventies, one who has just become King, and one who is the only daughter losing her mother, I just feel that little bit more in awe of them.

Windsor castle grounds look wonderful

TokyoSushi · 19/09/2022 14:31

It's a bit stressful watching the hearse and seeing people running down side streets towards it just a few seconds too late!

Homewardbound2022 · 19/09/2022 14:02

Atmos looked a bit frosty in that car! Both staring out their respective side.

I don’t think it was frosty at all. At one point this morning Meghan had her hand on Sophie comforting her when Sophie was clearly crying.

If things were frosty they’d have had the Duchess of Gloucester sat between them.

DutchessOfMuck · 19/09/2022 14:33

Is there another service at Windsor now?

A single photo capturing a moment can always have a negative or positive spin on it anyway
It always makes me smile when people interpret a photo a particular way.

Yes for family

Finally! The feathered helmets are "His Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms". I could not find them via Google yesterday.

Yep. One of them is a relative. Impossible to pick him out though, with the feathers hiding so much of everyone's face

Are you watching this somewhere?

HangerLaneGyratorySystem · 19/09/2022 14:36

I'm confused about who's in what car too - I didn't see the King etc - the main part of the family - get into any cars behind the hearse, it seems that people were already sitting in the cars as they pulled away behind the hearse?
