And I'm in tears now. That last national anthem just for her. Perfect.

My poor cat. It's way past his lunch time but he can't sit on the windowsill any longer and is making moves. The Royal Family and everyone else must also be hungry.

My child's desperate to play with me now

With the hint of a smile I thought, how lovely.

Who got in the cars before they left, I thought it was Charles and those who marched behind but then they were still there?

Anne and Tim.

MenopauseSucks · 19/09/2022 13:44

Will it be the same pallbearers in Windsor?

LoveMyPiano · 19/09/2022 13:44

MumofSpud · 19/09/2022 13:34

Without meaning to sound disrespectful to Canada, why were the Mounties leading ?

Well, it might be worth remember that Queen Elizabeth II wrote/designed her funeral herself. But re. the Mounties, it was as much about the horses (as I have posted previously) who were gifts (form Canada/RCMP) to the Queen over the years - and being such horse-lover, hardly surprising that they were the stars.
(Names - Elizabeth, George, Sir John and Darby)

Do you think they will step on the gas a bit to Windsor? It will be a slow journey otherwise

They are running behind a bit already. The hearse was suppose to leave at 13.10, arrive at Windsor at 15.06.
Running about 40minutes late.

Is she being buried at Windsor? Not at Westminster cathedral?

Yes. Beside Philip.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 19/09/2022 13:43

Is she being buried at Windsor? Not at Westminster cathedral?

Yes, alongside her husband, both parents and sister.

cushioncovers · 19/09/2022 13:44

Changed over to itv now fed up of the jabbering on bbc

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 13:44

Yes she's being buried in St Georges chapel with Philip her sister and parents. It's a very special place.

BlueRidge · 19/09/2022 13:45

Who is in the cars following the hearse?

elaeocarpus · 19/09/2022 13:45

So Anne and Tim got in the vehicle behind the hearse, the other siblings stayed behind? Wonder why the all didn't depart at the same time

BirdyWoof · 19/09/2022 13:45

The entire ceremony was so moving and respectful. Very fortunate for it to be televised and for everyone to be able to witness it. I’m aghast that some think it is appropriate to complain about it being televised. Life is short and sometimes you need to take a pause and appreciate history in the making.

There are many more days where people can watch absolute drivel on tv. Such a sheer lack of respect for some on this thread.

I can just about tolerate clapping but the whooping is horrendous. It’s not bloody Jerry Springer.

I feel the same. People just can't differentiate between different occasions.

Benefi · 19/09/2022 13:45

What other country would do this? I can see Russia and China having huge events (for whom??) but it'd be all tanks and guns.

BadlydoneHelen · 19/09/2022 13:27

We have particularly noticed the hat men who hold all the extra busby for the pall bearers in our house

Us too, and we've been wondering whether everyone gets the correct bearskin returned to them!

I believe the hearse is taking a longer route to Windsor.

The other cars will take a more direct route

Hopefully when they get onto a major road with no spectators the RF can sneak a couple of sausage rolls, bag of dorito's and and maybe a red bull to get them through the rest of the day

Seriously - when do they get to have a glass of water, cup of tea, biscuit or comfort break? This is a long drawn-out affair and none of them are spring chickens.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 19/09/2022 13:46

Ah, thanks. I did not know that's where they were - I thought they were all in the cathedral. My monarchy knowledge is a bit lacking, it seems!

She is being buried at St George’s Chapel with Prince Phillip later this evening.

Well quite. If you do feel that way go and stream something you like on Netflix and give over. The Queen was like no other. She is absolutely deserving of this.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 19/09/2022 13:46

that was a very long march, what a vision though!

tactum · 19/09/2022 13:46

I do wish people wouldn't throw flowers, really bugs me and I'm sure the police officers on the motorbikes. So unneccessary

Benefi · 19/09/2022 13:47

What is wrong with people hip-hip-hooraying a coffin??
