Glad it was sunny and bright. Showed everything off in its best light.

TheQueensCousin · 19/09/2022 13:21

A beautiful service and procession for our dear HMTQ 😢

elizaregina · 19/09/2022 13:21

Definitely boost tourism,no doubt about it.

Thank You for your concern BordoisAgain - it must be wonderful to be so righteous

Nope just basic human decency not to criticise someone at the funeral of their mother. Obviously not something that you're used to.

Jellykat · 19/09/2022 13:21

Thanks LIZS, feels a lot longer!!

Princess Anne is obviously super-fit. I'm younger than her and I couldn't walk all that way.

Much worse for the king - two years older, but more importantly non-stop ceremony, meeting heads of state, flying to all the home nations, etc all week. I’m a bit worried about him! Exhausting the Princess Royal but she’s definitely had more down time

sparklecement · 19/09/2022 13:22

Those playing in the band must be exhausted. Playing without stopping, having a drink.

I could Start to talk about any ex military yes.

But the talk is about the royal family and Harry? .

No matter what the ins and outs are, I'm just saying that unlike people wearing a uniform who have never actually severed, Harry has .

I’m sure the only one of the RF who hasn’t officially spent any time in the military is Princess Anne

BlueBellsArePretty · 19/09/2022 13:22

Definitely and the drum beat they are marching to is quite hypnotic. They're all clinging to each other so hopefully if he keeled over his sailor comrades would drag him along.

Benefi · 19/09/2022 13:23

I was thinking about this, and I think in a way the working royals have served the military in terms of how many duties they perform, week-in, week-out.

Jellykat · 19/09/2022 13:19

How many miles is this journey anyone know?

As pp said, the route is 2 miles long but I'm sure I heard it said earlier that the procession itself was over a mile long?

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 13:23

marble Arch is at the end of Oxford Street, at the junction with Park Lane and Edgware Road amongst others but quite a long way from Regents Street!

GlitteryFarts · 19/09/2022 13:23

Anyone noticed all the snipers on the roofs? Me and my son are snipers spotting.

Excellent point. The strain, both mentally and physically must be immense.

Who are the two women walking carrying canes? Not military or royalty I don’t think?

Dont know but I bet they're regretting their choice of shoe

Jellykat · 19/09/2022 13:23

I just went upstairs coincidentally in perfect time

BadlydoneHelen · 19/09/2022 13:23

Wellington Arch has the smallest police station in the UK inside it I think

Spinninggyro · 19/09/2022 13:24

The Mounties are on horses which were given, by the Mounties, to the Queen. So the horses live in the UK but are Canadian

Vapeyvapevape · 19/09/2022 13:24

Poor Anne looks distraught

Thanks for that! My London geography isn't the best, like to think it is but really isn't

xalo · 19/09/2022 13:24

Apparently a spider is a symbol of feminine power and ancient wisdom...

Cherryblossoms85 · 19/09/2022 13:24

@LoveMyPiano according to the telegraph all the horses have been freshly shod, with each shoe embossed (or whatever the right word is) with ER. The shoes are also specially made with a design that prevents slipping

watcherintherye · 19/09/2022 13:24

I hope George and Charlotte had a good breakfast. No fruit shoots and snacks after the service for them. The training starts v early!

BadlydoneHelen · 19/09/2022 13:24
