If you aren’t planning to watch the funeral on Monday, what will you be doing?

We have the bank holiday on Monday - I am not bothered about watching the funeral, and would quite like to make the most of the day off, but obviously everything is closed.

What is everyone planning to do if not watch the funeral?

Working. I had meetings arranged that are critical to project progress. We've agreed to go ahead with them despite the fact our employer has given us the day off as there is nowhere to move them too in a packed schedule.

Sleeping! It's at 3 am where I live.Smile

I’ve got some curtains that need some sewing together to make wider ones so I’m planning on getting my sewing machine out. May see if I’m able to put poles up as I would love to hang them too. I’ll have all the coverage on in the background.

Going to the funeral.

You have had an invite?

kikisparks · 15/09/2022 08:40

Weather looks ok, I’m thinking picnic somewhere with DH and DD.

PenYGore · 15/09/2022 08:43

Working (self employed).

BruceHellerAlmighty · 15/09/2022 08:45

I'm going to a bird watching place.

BitOutOfPractice · 15/09/2022 08:46

Working (self employed) then gym after work (it opens at 2) and then maybe a pint at my local if it’s open. I might listen on the radio as I work.

waterlego · 15/09/2022 08:49

Probably going to treat it a bit like Boxing Day, so go for a long walk with the dog and then come back and watch movies while eating snacks.

StrongTea · 15/09/2022 08:54

Dentist then off to caravan for a few days.

Beezknees · 15/09/2022 08:55

I'm planning on a Lord of the rings marathon. All 3 extended editions.

youngestisapsycho · 15/09/2022 08:56

We are away for the weekend and travelling back on Monday. I would have watched if I was at home. I will set BBC1 to record all day and them when I'm home Monday evening I can watch with the advantage of being able to whizz forward thru most of it! 😁

GlitterB0mb · 15/09/2022 08:57

Lie in. Cleaning.

Won't be on the TV in our house.

JonahAndTheSnail · 15/09/2022 09:03

Packing up my kitchen, as I'm getting a new one fitted on Wednesday - rivetting stuff!

@70billionthnamechange I would open up your cafe if you want to. If our shop wasn't closed on Mondays, we'd be opening up as normal. Stick a charity pot up for donations for the local food bank or similar. That's a much more productive way of paying your respects than sitting at home watching a funeral.

Iamclearlyamug · 15/09/2022 09:06

We won't be watching, but a big group of us locally are going to ride our horses down to the village square and line up by the the big flag and do a 2 minute silence - it's not much, but the queen loves horses and it's nice to pay our respects in a way she'd have enjoyed 🤷‍♀️

MumsHairnet · 15/09/2022 09:09

Baby sitting my grandchildren as their parents are working. Hoping for a lovely day in the garden/ local park. Baking and crafty stuff if the weathers bad.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 15/09/2022 09:13

Dh is contemplating a dip in the North Sea with colleagues, first thing, in the style of the Boxing Day dip Grin so likely the kids and I will go along. Coffees and a brisk walk up the pier.

Then we will head home and get cosy. I'll likely watch catch up of the funeral and the others will do something else lazy.

Nhytfdetykbcz · 15/09/2022 09:27

Working.

Buzzinwithbez · 15/09/2022 09:48

Hoping to go to a swimming place that I've wanted to take the kids to for a while. It's being castigated for being open, so who knows whether they'll bow to pressure.

FelicityRelaxington · 15/09/2022 09:57

Nhs. Working.

Grantanow · 15/09/2022 10:04

A bit of DIY for which I've already bought the materials. Being glad I'm not having an NHS operation cancelled. Reflecting on the cost of living and trying to work out my future gas and electricity bill.

LastTrainEast · 15/09/2022 10:11

There's a funeral?

Pebbledashery · 15/09/2022 10:24

I'll be working also (NHS)
