Well, I don’t care. I won’t be watching the funeral either.

I’ve seen so many memes shared that have made me laugh, but I won’t share them here cos I reckon the thread will get deleted.

People need to get this into perspective, yes lots of people loved her and I'm sure her children and grandchildren will be upset ,but she had a very long privileged life , tragedies happen to people every day this isn't a tragedy

I completely agree. This mawkish fake grief over the death of someone you never met is unhealthy in my opinion. And the cancellation of medical appointments, and even other funerals, because they fall on the same day as the queen’s funeral is appalling; would she have wanted that?

It’s madness. I had a lot of respect for the queen but it’s not tragic, my friend dying at 22 was tragic. She lived to a ripe old age, in good health and died surrounded by family. My work have sent an email offering counselling services! A lovely manager at the same place died unexpectedly a month ago, we were just expected to crack on.

tbh, I feel sorry for the Royals (living). Public Performative Grief on repeat. Eek. And eulogising. Eek x Eek. I can't imagine that they want to wallow in this moment, either.

I told DS he'd better not grieve my death if I die at 96 after a good life (he can decide if it was good). He promised to dance a jig on my grave & I commended him. I'd prefer that to compulsory performative grief, anyway. I felt sad for QE2 when PP died, but now she's with him & everyone can be happy that any suffering they have felt is gone after full diverse lives.

We're going on holiday tomorrow, can't wait and very glad we'll be out of the country for the next week. Can't believe how ridiculous people are being over someone who they didn't know. All the fawning and doffed caps make me sick.

Yep, fed up of it! Sick of the nauseous tributes, the cries of respect, the fake platitudes, the sudden defence of PA....all of it, it actually pisses me off; the group-think that's took over the country is embarrassing. I think it mostly annoys me because it's a stark reminder that the British public are perfectly happy to be serfs to these nobodies; they will worship them, defend them - whilst crying that they can't afford their heating bills. Fucking food banks are shutting for the funeral FFS and if you comment how disgraceful that is you get a load of ' BE RESPECTFUL' from the flag-shaggers 🙄

The monarchy....well all of the elite (and most of the media) are parasites on this country, yet the bootlickers have a tantrum if you don't display complete deference to them; it's truly baffling. What a subservient, embarrassing little nation we are!

I keep hearing about these Paddington memes but that's the first one I've seen that you posted. Why are they not getting to me?

The queen literally did nothing to have that title, not because of talent, hard work (I'm not saying she didn't do any) or because she was voted. She was born into it. Why should that be respected. Simply because of her bloodline she was given all this luxury, power and privalage. The least she could do was act with dignity and do some charity work. I don't know why people idolise the royal family.

Of course it's sad when someone dies but I don't respect the monarchy and what it stands for.

I'm so sorry for your loss i have seen some of your posts before ,what happened to your daughter was tragic 💐 for you and everyone who has lost someone in tragic circumstances.

My brother dying of cancer aged 41 leaving behind a young son and widow is a tragedy. An old lady dying at 96 who was able to see her children and grandchildren is sad but not a tragedy.

It really winds me up too people going on about her amazing life of service, she knew no different and is not like a normal person thrust into a challenging situation - it was just normal. There's nothing incredible about it, she had so much support from staff and advisors, I really don't see anything astonishing about her life. Yes it's a long time to be queen, that's it! Ok we can note 70 years is a long time. But enough already. My dc sport club was cancelled on Sunday as a mark of respect, wtf? Why would the queen want children to miss out on sport and exercise to show respect? It's bonkers

Annoyed that as a retail worker I'm supposed to be so upset that I'm thankful for 'a day off work'. In reality it means not getting paid or using up holiday.

Centre parks are idiots.
Cancelling the football and nothing else is stupid.
Dh and ds were going to watch arsenal last weekend for first time in years.
Days off wasted and coach tickets too.
On Monday I'm going to sit and watch back to back netflix and have a bottle.of wine and avoid it all.
I can't get over people queueing for 30 hours to look at a coffin briefly.

Our city was due to host a football tournament and had invited children suffering from social exclusion, including kids from Ukraine and Afghanistan.

Guess what? Cancelled due to 'respect'. So all those kids got off their flights only to be packed off home again.

I'm furious and sad about that.

The woman lobbied parliament to hide her wealth from us all as she knew she was offensively rich in a country of poor people. It was disgusting.
