PTSD from Tinder Ghosting

So I don’t know if anyone here has been following this so I apologise if there’s already been threads about it, but if not I wondered what people thought of all the online talk about supernatural forces causing trauma by using online dating to lure women into especially spirit receptive locations, then abuse them in supernatural ways. “ghost in the machine” I think is the phrase when a spirit uses technology in this way. Makes sense when you think about it, why wouldn’t bad spirits adapt to a technological world just like they adapted and haunted ships and aeroplanes etc? It’s logical when you think about my it.

I read several really traumatic accounts from women that had met a man they came to know as “Daniel” on tinder and went to a location to meet him (which was a house in Yorkshire) where once they arrived they were greeted by “Daniel” and he let them into the house, but then he disappeared and the door slammed shut and wouldn’t open. Then for the rest of the night they were haunted in the dark by voices of Demons calling themselves “Legion” and then at last once the women were really frightened the Demons took physical form and basically gang banged the women for hours until dawn. All the women said they kind of just woke up in morning and the door was open and they were in a derelict house.

Not surprisingly all of the women have PTSD about this as well as trauma from being mocked by people who don’t believe them (which I think is really nasty considering the assualt element)

I just wondered if anyone had had any experiences like this or knew anyone who had? And what they made of the whole thing? Also do you think Spirits are now being influence by online misogynistic dating culture and it’s radicalising them to do these kind of extreme hauntings?

I don’t know maybe I wouldn’t use tinder or other popular apps but would use a smaller app for now for safety. I don’t know

What??

J0y · 20/08/2022 10:16

I think it's just dickhead men who can't communicate. I don't think they can offload the responsibility for leading women on and then not communicating or being honest on to spirits

I was totally demoralised after a 4 year on and off use of dating apps to meet people until I just gave up and found peace with being single. I would never try again. Pasa lo que páse

LaingsAcidTab · 20/08/2022 10:18

No. This isn't happening. This is a combination of troll-like behaviour from those 'dates' and the power of the mind to conjure up all kinds of explanations for them.

ps

I do think I had a kind of post traumatic plummeting self-worth reaction to years of being dumped every time I thought a relationship might be becoming solid so I'm not minimising the trauma that comes with internet dating.
I was lucky I managed to dialogue my self-worth up not down but only after I made the decision to entirely stop looking.

NotDavidTennant · 20/08/2022 10:20

Is this a pitch for an epsiode of the X-Files?

Whadda · 20/08/2022 10:20

Sorry, are you asking if ghosts are using Tinder?

The answer is no.

DelphiniumBlue · 20/08/2022 10:21

Several women went to a house in Yorkshire to meet a man called Daniel, who they don't know.
I find it hard to believe that several women can be that foolhardy. I can believe that if they did, they got into trouble, and possibly were drugged.
I wonder what the police had to say when they reported it?

@LaingsAcidTab

But what about how all the stories all similar and from a similar area? Run down house in the same county

Er....did you actually read the OP? Ita about demons gangbanging women via tinder!

OP - I think these are very troubled women who have obviously experienced something traumatic. They may well have mental health issues. But do I think they've really been gangbanged by demons? No.

Casper the friendly ghost is all grown up now

But most online dating is that way. Going somewhere with someone you don’t know. I think the thing is it was on a poorer area and if you don’t have money to eat out meeting at a house isn’t unusual for a lot of people, it wouldn’t set off red flags if a guy asked you to meet at his house.
They said the police didn’t believe them and they felt like they were being mocked.

If it did happen (as a set up by a human, not supernatural forces), it could be avoided by not going to someone’s house. No need to avoid Tinder entirely.

fufflecake · 20/08/2022 10:24

Where are these stories?

Octomore · 20/08/2022 10:25

I mean - do you seriously find it plausible that spirits would be 'radicalised' by misogynistic online dating culture, which makes them do 'extreme hauntings' that involve gangbanging women in Yorkshire?

Far more likely that these women have been drugged or attacked in some other way by common or garden human men. You know, the ones who usually do this kind of shit.

GCBookseller · 20/08/2022 10:25

I think it’s extremely unlikely Spirits are being radicalised by toxic online dating culture 🫣

PTSD is a debilitating condition though, it can cause hallucinatory experiences and very real flashbacks, so for women who’ve been abused, feeling as though they’re reliving the experience does happen.

IzzyNeedsHelp · 20/08/2022 10:26

@Octomore

But if you did believe in the spirit world would you think this was possible?

FAQs · 20/08/2022 10:27

Do what, what now??

IzzyNeedsHelp · 20/08/2022 10:27

I just wonder if people who do have some experience with spirits or hauntings think women should know about this so they take more precautions when using these apps rather than just going into house expecting normal decent men?

OP posts:
AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 20/08/2022 10:27

Um, I think there are plenty of shit tinder dates out there but that they are mostly of the living, human variety.

Octomore · 20/08/2022 10:27

That's an impossible question to answer. I don't believe in the spirit world and none of it is plausible.

Drugging and rape by human men, on the other hand, definitely does happen.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 20/08/2022 10:28

🤔

Molly887 · 20/08/2022 10:28

That’s not what “ghost in the machine” means.

@GCBookseller

Why not though? Haven’t spirits adapted to new technology before? Like there have been hauntings on cruise ships and once they didn’t exist or that thing with the Russian astronauts

Have a read of some posts on here.
Exaggerated, made up and attention seeking. Same with this. Ignore. It's bollix.
