It's so strange that the two most vocal Jack supporters say very similar things, and one appeared just as the other flounced.

We do know her outgoings as she listed them. Her rent is £1500 a month on an £800k house. I haven’t researched this, she tweeted it.

Hasn't been so specific about the amounts spent on alcohol and the prescription drugs she abused according to her most recent Diva article, written when she was just out of a long residential rehab stay all last summer, though.

Maëlys · 05/08/2022 23:09

You've lost me, I have no idea who awfullymolly is.

Although going by these types of threads and how they usually go you've got that pegged as ""aha!see, you're Jack, you would say that"🤣

To be honest, your posts come across as though you’re rather relishing the tiny bit of attention you’re getting on this thread. Which feels extremely Jack Monroe like 🤷‍♀️

Although presumably JM is getting enough narcissistic supply on Twitter even for them right now and doesn’t need to come on to mumsnet to top it up some more.

Motorcycleemptyness · 05/08/2022 23:09

@GoodJanetBadJanet what on Earth are you getting out of defending JM’s right to go on holiday, buy a spendy dog and live in a big house while simultaneously expecting everyone who reads her blog to believe she can’t afford to buy shampoo and has had to replace her light bulbs with solar powered ones? Do you not feel a little bit of a dickhead when faced with JM’s OWN tweets?

murasaki · 05/08/2022 23:19

I think Jack has some serious mental health issues, and a tenuous relationship wit----h the truth. At best. At worst, she is a stone cold con artist.

GoodJanetBadJanet · 05/08/2022 22:56

Pathetic, begging strangers to support her profligate lifestyle.

Again with the presuming to know what her lifestyle is just because you've seen some posts on social media.

Her own posts on social media. Of her home, her possessions, her well furnished and equipped rented house. Her holidays. Trips within Britain staying in luxurious accommodation. Going to Venice. Wearing costly clothes and jewelry. Different hair colour and styles. Lip fillers, Botox.

I don't need to presume anything; she's told the world and posted pictures!

GoodJanetBadJanet · 05/08/2022 23:44

I just know how it feels having to put up with gobshites thinking they know everything about you just because you put some writing out there.
Ooh, are you're claiming that?! all under legitimate concerns 🙄
Like you're bothered with other self employed people like painters or gardeners or whatever

GoodJanetBadJanet · 05/08/2022 23:47

Ok, bold didn't work there try again

Poyi · 05/08/2022 23:52

Are there lots of painters and gardeners trying to grift money off people on twitter too?

GoodJanetBadJanet · 05/08/2022 23:57

Are there lots of painters and gardeners trying to grift money off people on twitter too?
Sheesh, and apparently I'm the one trying to miss the point 😂

GoodJanetBadJanet · 05/08/2022 22:13

No, Janet's. been around for quite a while. I don't think she's Jack at all.

Iirc Jack has posted on MN under her own name several times in the past.
Ooh look, another "gender critical" poster purpoting to "know" me.

I don't "know" you @GoodJanetBadJanet other than having seen you on MN for some time now. Our views certainly don't align on many issues but I didn't think it was fair that you should be accused of being JM just because you disagreed with most posters on this thread.

Clearly, I shouldn't have bothered.

GoodJanetBadJanet · 06/08/2022 00:01

I don't "know" you @GoodJanetBadJanet other than having seen you on MN for some time now
Yes, on the feminism board where you're a regular poster.

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/08/2022 00:03

Yes. Is that a problem?

GoodJanetBadJanet · 06/08/2022 00:15

Yes. Is that a problem?
No, not at all, just ties in to earlier comments upthread

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/08/2022 00:21

Too cryptic for me Janet. I've no idea what you're on about.
Good night.

GoodJanetBadJanet · 06/08/2022 00:22

Ok, thanks (no, seriously,)
Just saw your name commenting as a "gender critical" and the only thing you disagree with me on is trans rights (I think) so replied and you maybe missed the other posts upthread
What other points don't you agree with me on, genuinely interested to know as you say many issues?

GoodJanetBadJanet · 06/08/2022 00:28

Too cryptic for me Janet. I've no idea what you're on about.
Good night.
You could try actually reading what you're replying to 😳

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/08/2022 00:39

Sorry Janet, I'm pretty tired. Yes, I must have missed what you were referring to.
Thinking about it, it's the gender stuff we obviously disagree on, so I shouldn't have said 'many' issues as I don't know.
And now I'm off to bed.

GoodJanetBadJanet · 06/08/2022 01:08

Fair enough, let's agree to disagree then 😁

No one is claiming to ‘know everything’ about JM based on her writing though so fuck only knows why you (and JM) clutch at these straw man arguments. What is being claimed is that frequently, for the last ten years, JM has tweeted and written in depth about their financial situation (and well meaning people have donated a lot of money in the form of patreon and PayPal donations - we know this because this evidence IS available on the internet and I don’t give a shit what anyone says, almost 800 people paying at least £1 a month for zero content since nov 2020 is A LOT of money for no work) while also tweeting about things (such as five figure brand deals, expensive pets, Emin art in the loo, designer goods found in puddles etc) which all spell out a rather inconsistent message.

No one is saying that writing isn’t a job or that writers shouldn’t be paid, nor am I saying that the life of a freelancer isn’t inconsistent and precarious at times. What I am saying is that JM wrote (paraphrasing) ‘I haven’t bought shampoo in two years’ in an essay about how skint they were AND literally 8 months before tweeted someone else a list of hair care products they were using. JM claims they slept rough for two years, yet also claim they have a supportive family and their dad is a landlord with an MBE for fostering.

The whole thing is lunacy, and it absolutely should be discussed (no matter how much you seem to think it doesn’t need to be for reasons I literally can’t fathom) because JM is frequently given a large platform on the back of this (the guardian, daily kitchen, Superdrug campaign, sainsburys, hellmans etc) and if it isn’t true, where exactly does that leave us?

JohnsShirt · 06/08/2022 08:29

Crikey, she's claimed that Tom Kerridge, yes the Michelin starred Chef stole her cooking ideas.

brownbreadicecream · 06/08/2022 08:34

Answer honestly (ha!) - when you started posting on this thread, had you actually read the twitter thread that this is about?

From the entirely predictable lack of answer from janet there, I assume she didn't, because she felt she knew it all already from the few posts she skim-read, so that's why all her "but we can't possibly tell what JM has claimed" arguments look so facile.

I consider it a form of deliberate derailing to come into threads pretending to know what they're discussing and forcing people to reiterate the same points over and over. In fact, this used to be the main definition of "trolling". I've seen this poster do it on other threads.

You're perfectly entitled to disagree, but it's courteous to at least identify what it is you're actually disagreeing with. If you are able.

As fucking if 🤣 She quickly deleted it too, but the poster she was replying to managed to screenshot it for posterity 👩‍🍳💋

Agreed. There was a particular one on another influencers thread a few years ago.

Tom STOLE his famous "rinsed alphabetti spaghetti" recipe?

🤣🤣🤣🤣
