Should I buy this wedding dress..?

Hi all,

So I'm currently wedding dress hunting. Wedding is coming up SO quickly now - with only 50 days to go until the big day!
I've left dress shopping until last as I have been on a bit of a weight loss journey and wanted to stabilise a little before buying my dress.

Anyway.. I've lost almost 6 stone now since the beginning of this year, so I wanted to try and find something elegant, timeless, classic but also slightly fitted to give me a nice shape and to celebrate my loss 🫣😊

Today I tried this dress (below) and I think I'm in love with it.. 🥹🥰 but would love opinions before I go and buy it!

The dress, with some cap sleeves or bolero will be perfect as this will stop any attention to the back shoulders which are the least flattering area

Agree sleeves/coverage are needed. But not capped sleeves - they are very unflattering on a full upper arm.

I think the size of the skirt makes you look bigger than you actually are. I can see why you want A line if you feel sensitive about having a bit of a belly, but I think you need a sleeker A line. Can they remove any of the underskirts to slim it down?

I also think a softer neckline would look more flattering.

You’ve got a gorgeous figure but I don’t think the strapless dress is doing you any favours. (They rarely suit anyone btw, so it’s not you). If it was truly “the one” you wouldn’t be posting here for opinions. I would try on some more with different styles on the top.

I have absolutely no idea why, but I came on here not expecting to like the dress. Maybe I'm too critical???

OP, its NOT fat overhang, its boob and side boob. As I said its not your figure that is the problem at all it's the torso length of the bodice. Please don't go away thinking its you or that you need to lose more weight to fix it.

Absolutely. I pointed out the overflow but it's definitely a style/fit issue not a you issue. Please accept that comments are on the dress not the person in it.

I think your dress is beautiful, but personally, I'm not keen on the veil. I wouldn't go for lace with that dress. I would look at something with a little subtle sparkle, to pick up on the belt you are wearing. Have a look here for ideas.

The only thing that would bother me is that I found being a similar size and shape that an underwire bra was extremely uncomfortable after a while in my wedding dress and really wish I had one with straps so I could comfortably hoik everything up.

This might not apply to you as it looks fine in the photo but I didn't know back cleavage was a thing and have since found out there's a special way to scoop back fat so it sits inside the corset bit.

I had no idea what I looked like from the back, wish someone had told me!

I agree about the boobage issue. I'm not sure if it's because it hasn't been altered to fit but I'm also seeing a horizontal crease below the bust.

I agree with @Stiltonlover - I think the dress is making you look bigger than you are. The slight amendments they did to your pic make a huge difference.
