Should I buy this wedding dress..?

Hi all,

So I'm currently wedding dress hunting. Wedding is coming up SO quickly now - with only 50 days to go until the big day!
I've left dress shopping until last as I have been on a bit of a weight loss journey and wanted to stabilise a little before buying my dress.

Anyway.. I've lost almost 6 stone now since the beginning of this year, so I wanted to try and find something elegant, timeless, classic but also slightly fitted to give me a nice shape and to celebrate my loss 🫣😊

Today I tried this dress (below) and I think I'm in love with it.. 🥹🥰 but would love opinions before I go and buy it!

I think it looks absolutely beautiful , you should just go for it! When my daughter got married she looked so beautiful in her dress - but more importantly she also FELT beautiful because she'd chosen a dress that she loved and because she
loved what she was wearing. So, go with your instinct OP because it's right. All the best for your wedding day :) xx

Congratulations on the weight loss, that must have taken a lot of willpower! I agree with others, I don’t think strapless is the way to go, even on a size 8 there’s the back fat problem! I think a scoop neckline, possibly cap sleeves (especially as you’ve said you’re worried about the church bit - I wouldn’t be bothered, but your current dress is quite fleshy (in terms of skin on show), if that’s what you’re worried about exposing). The rest of the fit is great though!

Bloody hell merryhouse you must have the styling ability of Jackie Onassis if you can tie a sheet round you and look like that.

And 'boring'? Have you been watching too many Big Fat Gypsy Wedding episodes and now you can't imagine a wedding dress that doesn't light up?

The dress is beautiful and you look amazing in it. Go for it especially if you feel comfortable in it, that's so important.

I think a dress of a similar fit/ style but with straps or sleeves would be better - I wouldn't go for strapless due to the flesh overhang thing which can distract from how fabulous you look.

The veil is stunning but the dress is quite plain and doesn't flatter. I don't think it would flatter anybody's figure so it's not you.

I've gone from a size 24 to a 14 but still not certain I'm happy with how I look.

Looking at the photos and wondering if all my guests would see, is fat spilling over the dress

It's lovely OP. One thing I would say is is that a Wed 2 be? I got mine from there. They don't do alterations in store so make sure you are happy with the length. The belt looks fab with it. I love the material too, its like a classic wedding dress without looking meringuey.

No I promise they won't. You fit really nicely in that dress. Careful of tan lines and you'll be fine :) x

All good then. I'd go for it. If you tried it on and felt fabulous then that's the one for you. You can always try it on again before you take the final plunge.

I think it’s a bit matronly. Probably because goes straight across chest and the skirt is quite stiff. I’d maybe go for more fitted. Not strapless.

The fact that you are posting here makes me wonder if you are not sure “it’s the one”. I would keep looking if I were you until you have that 100% gut reaction that it is perfecto! Getting random ppl to tell you if it’s good or not is no use, only YOU will know when you try a dress on.
