Do you believe in any ‘conspiracy theories’?

Just that really. If so, which ones? 9/11 an inside job? JFK murdered by the American government? 5G? Chemtrails? The royal family are lizard?

I always maintain I don’t believe in anything, but at the same time there’s so much I don’t know and I do believe the government are up to some shady crap that we will never learn about…

A lot of these suicide ones I agree with, I don't think Isaac Kappy killed himself either.

userxx · 03/12/2022 22:39

@thenightsky Interesting!

Hobbi · 03/12/2022 22:39

@KitchenFleur why would me taking a picture of the moon with my iPhone bear any relation to whether there were aliens visiting us or not? Our phones have better photographic capacity than any used to capture the fake images of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s yet the quality of the images remain the same. Leaving mobile phone cameras aside, there's still massive improvements in regular cameras. And this is combined with CCTV and satellite imagery. Your reference to naval or flight officers is a weak appeal to authority, they're no more trained to make useful identifications than you or me.

paintitallover · 03/12/2022 22:41

I believe the government has a plan to privatise the NHS. That's it.

Velvian · 03/12/2022 22:48

One of my favourites is that the CIA wrote Winds of Change by The Scorpions.

I listened to a podcast about it. The conclusion I came to was that they didn't, but that the US authorities were responsible for the big rock gig in Moscow in 1989. It seems like it was a plea deal for the manager Doc McGhee in relation to drug trafficking charges. It was during this trip that Klaus Meine wrote WoC.

I hate the way he says China 😡

Rasputin was a charismatic addict under the influence of others manipulated to bring down the Romanovs.

Timezones · 03/12/2022 22:59

@SueD1 I've always taken it for granted that Covid was leaked from the lab in Wuhan. Seriously, what are the odds of a virus originating in a market 200 metres from a virology lab but the lab having nothing to do with it?
The conspiracy theory about this in China is that 5 American soldiers in uniform were seen in Wuhan, and they brought the virus to China and deliberately released it.

All I was saying was that trying to take a decent photo of a tiny object in the sky is nigh on impossible with a smart phone.
Of course most known photos are fakes, but amongst these, and experiences that have been reported, some are intriguing.

There is naval footage of UFOs flying at a speed and manoeuvring in ways that no known man made object can, and the discussion around these has changed, by people who I assume know more about current technology than I do.

At the end of the day I’m not here to defend my belief - I don’t really care if others agree or not, I’m just posting on MN.

I don't believe that Dr David Kelly committed suicide.

Came here to say this. I think it’s widely known in certain circles too that it wasn’t suicide.

It’s the only one I believe in though

You'd think they'd not wear uniform if they were going to do that though.

To those saying they believe Princess Diana was murdered - how did her killers know she wasn’t gonna wear a seatbelt in a car speeding through Paris?

WishIhadacrystalball · 03/12/2022 23:09

I find conspiracy theories quite fascinating and enjoy reading both sides. Sometimes can find myself starting to believe one way then read the other side and mostly it’s easily explained!

I enjoy winding my husband up about the moon landings
I know they were real but its still incredulous to me

Are you me?? GrinGrinGrin

I like to spout faux-scepticism about the Moon landings to wind up DH. He does the same about 9/11 to me.

I don't know if true or not, but according to the video I watched, she did normally wear a seatbelt but it was broken in the car they used the night of the crash.

WishIhadacrystalball · 03/12/2022 23:11

Actually there was one I read on here, must have been a couple of years ago to do with Hollywood celebrities and switching places type thing. Read all about it at the time, lots of photos showing how they were the same person, and the whole thing was ridiculous 😂 It wasn’t just one person it was multiple people.

EmmaAgain22 · 03/12/2022 23:06

Depends if it's false flag op

RosesAndHellebores · 03/12/2022 23:12

@LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet because those who knew her well enough knew she didn’t tend to wear seat belts

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 03/12/2022 23:13

No, she just didn’t wear one neither did Dodi.

Also, this video by the excellent Mitchell and Webb debunks this theory in a really funny way

Eh? I thought she always did wear a seatbelt according to someone else?!

Also what’s this? There’s other bit MN won’t let me post them for some reason

Do you believe in any ‘conspiracy theories’?

Yep

Summerhillsquare · 03/12/2022 13:17

The trouble with most of these theories is that they require an extraordinary degree of organisation, rather than the mild incompetence that most large organisations display. So no.

Not always, couple of people at the very top, then sub contractors to carry out individual tasks, bit like black op missions, e.g. Military commander has their orders, they pass down individual tasks to individual teams, that when all completed achieved x,

people seem to think at times everyone needs to know all the details of the plan, when the reality is, you only need a handful of top people to do division of labour with all the different sub missions.

TomAllenWife · 03/12/2022 23:49

What's the Live Aid conspiracy?????
