Do you believe in any ‘conspiracy theories’?

SaveTheSharks · 27/06/2022 11:27

Just that really. If so, which ones? 9/11 an inside job? JFK murdered by the American government? 5G? Chemtrails? The royal family are lizard?

I always maintain I don’t believe in anything, but at the same time there’s so much I don’t know and I do believe the government are up to some shady crap that we will never learn about…

I’m actually starting to be suspicious that these threads are part of a conspiracy. They pop up every so often, and I wonder if it’s because ‘they’ want to see what’s slipping through the net and needs to be covered up better😁

Dr David Kelly/Robin Cook
Brexit - Cambridge Analytica
Scottish Independence campaign - Cambridge Analytica
Elvis lived
Moon landing film
African non monetary profit from Live Aid & other European charity efforts

That’s an excellent one 👌🏻

I think there's a lot of mystery surrounding early civilisations and how things were built

The trouble with most of these theories is that they require an extraordinary degree of organisation, rather than the mild incompetence that most large organisations display. So no.

That's true - for something like saying the moon landing or 9/11 was fake, for example. Too many people involved in the supposed pretense.

But for something smaller like a supposed suicide, there's only a handful of people who'd need the motive to do it and the means to buy silence to make it happen, so I feel like they could be slightly more believable.

RambamThankyouMam · 03/12/2022 13:31

I can tell you for a fact that all the ones to do with Jews are false. We are too busy arguing among ourselves to come up with a global conspiracy.

I used to be suspicious of conspiracy theories until I read about false flags like Bay of Pigs, Operation Northwoods, and Lusitania, and mind control experiments like MK ultra.

I don't believe Diana's death was an accident, nor 9/11.

SiobhanSharpe · 03/12/2022 13:36

I am more in favour of the 'cock-up' theory than actual conspiracies, given the stupidity vagaries of human nature.
Like covid -- it may well have escaped from a lab accidentally and this resulted in people running around like headless chickens trying to cope with containing it, and when that didn't work, even more people running around headless and generally trying to cover their arses. Panic and general incompetence ensues, albeit in some countries more than others.
The Johnson Government springs to mind. An enquiry is ongoing.
I daresay we will find out what actually happened eventually.
Not sure about Dr David Kelley.

SiobhanSharpe · 03/12/2022 13:38

Or Jeffrey Epstein. His death was extraordinarily convenient for some.

Happyhappyeveryday · 03/12/2022 13:39

That Princess Diana, JFK, Jeffrey Epstein, Dr David Kelly and Robin Cook were murdered by government agencies.

TurkeyTeeth · 03/12/2022 13:40

Okay, my screaming hot conspiracy take is that the moon landings definitely happened, but they were worried about the picture broadcast not being good enough/failing (because no one had ever broadcast live from discs before), so as a back up they recreated it in a studio and that's what everyone saw.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 03/12/2022 13:42

I believe in them all. I’m a bit gullible and impressionable.

I love a good conspiracy theory.

Don’t believe the Earth is flat, though. It’s very much round. I’ve seen pictures.

I don’t believe man has walked on the moon. There’s too many recording errors. The footprints were wrong, the flag wouldn’t be flying and you can see the strings making him bounce. CGI sucked back then.

That’s exactly what I think too. I think if a conspiracy theory were to be true it must make sense and have some logic to it. There was so much at stake to prove that the moon landing took place, a film recording would be an ‘insurance policy’ if anything went wrong.
I do think Diana’s crash was an accident as she would have probably had survived if she had worn her seatbelt 🤷‍♀️
There are much easier ways to murder someone. I think the some people were so overcome with grief as they couldn’t accept it.

Useyourfork · 03/12/2022 13:53

To me Dr David Kelly was definitely murdered. It seemed so obvious at the time, sadly we will never know for sure😢

I know what you mean and I think it's partly to try to lump all conspiracy theories in with nonsense like 'there's no such thing as Finland' or 'something clockwork birds something something' so that if anyone dares to question any narrative whatsoever, they can be immediately labelled as a flat earther etc.
I think for sure, David Kelly, Jeffrey Epstein and maybe Robin Cook's deaths were suspicious.
I don't believe in the official narrative on 911, not saying it was an inside job and don't know what really happened, there are just too many anomalies with it.

VioletLemon · 03/12/2022 13:55

Just assumed it was common knowledge (but unadmitted to) that Epstein was hung in his cell. He had the tapes of all the 'VIP' clients in his brothel.

Maxwell must be sleeping soundly.

SiobhanSharpe · 03/12/2022 13:56

I'm no expert of course but it seems possible that murder could be framed as suicide by people who know how.
I think that murder in prison may be covered up as suicide. I'm not necessarily talking about high profile cases, when it's thought that prisoners have taken 'justice' into their own hands. But when some poor soul has run up against a prison hard man for probably quite trivial reasons the hard guy has to maintain his reputation or lose face. So the poor soul is found 'hanged' in his cell.
But again, many prison suicides are probably just that.
There may be doubts but it's not a conspiracy in the wider 'conspiracy theory' sense.

VioletLemon · 03/12/2022 13:58

I agree, the audio was genuine, the picture not so. They knew Russia was likely to win the Space race so they prepped this to go out to ensure American supremacy.

If the flag were on Earth it would have stopped flying. The low gravity and lack of atmosphere actually means there is little to stop the flag flying once it has been set in motion on the moon.

I feel a strong inclination ( not definite) that Dr Kelly May have been murdered.

Yes they had - from Apollo 7 onwards.

red4321 · 03/12/2022 14:46

If I had to pick three:

  • David Kelly
  • Sussexes and the moonbump
  • Portuguese abduction

On the whole, I'm sceptical of conspiracies but there's some evidence on the above that's hard to explain if nothing else. My mother and I still argue over number 3.

A quick google will debunk all your moon landing conspiracies. Plenty of scientific answers available re the flag, no stars visible etc.
