Do you believe in any ‘conspiracy theories’?

Just that really. If so, which ones? 9/11 an inside job? JFK murdered by the American government? 5G? Chemtrails? The royal family are lizard?

I always maintain I don’t believe in anything, but at the same time there’s so much I don’t know and I do believe the government are up to some shady crap that we will never learn about…

Why Robin Cook?

I thought that too !.

7Worfs · 03/12/2022 16:37

What’s that with Meghan Markle and a moon bump?

Much as I don’t like the woman, her pregnancy with Archie was 100% real. I was pregnant at the same time and her post-partum body and puffy face was very relatable.
Is it the Lilibet pregnancy people think she used a surrogate for?

catsonahottinroof · 03/12/2022 16:37

With Robin Cook I think were similar reasons to Doctor Kelley - reservations over the Iraq war and weapons of mass destruction. He died after a fall on a mountainside but his wife was there, which makes it less suspicious. I can't remember all the details now but I do remember there were many at the time who thought it could be murder.

TurkeyTeeth · 03/12/2022 16:41

Yes they had - from Apollo 7 onwards

Did not know that.

Still, I reckon they didn't wanna risk the feed going down and the Russians accusing them of not having managed it. Too many big egos involved in all that willy waving.

BedTaker · 03/12/2022 16:45

The only one I really believe outright is that David Kelly didn't kill himself. And also possibly Epstein. Too much at stake if Epstein talked.

I also often wonder about that family who were murdered near Annecy. It was all over the news and then suddenly went completely silent. He must have been a spy surely?

The whole thing about who murdered Jill Dando is also weird.

Can't believe there are people who believe we didn't land on the moon? For starters can you imagine how many people would have to be in on that and keep quiet about it for all that time to hoax the whole world so publicly?

Whowhatwherewhenwhynow · 03/12/2022 16:45

I‘m not sure if this counts as a conspiracy theory but….I wouldn’t be surprised if it transpired that the last plane, on 9/11 was actually shot down by American forces. I’m not saying I think that’s what happened, just that I think it’s a realistic possibility.

I don’t generally believe conspiracy theories. I find flat earthers and the like bizarre. However I also find it weird when people just passively accept and believe everything they’re told. I think there a sensible middle somewhere.

Nagado · 03/12/2022 17:02

The timing of some ‘suicides’ have been awfully convenient.

Also, I don’t think I believe that Bin Laden was shot and killed when they found him. I think he was probably bundled into a vehicle and taken to some underground cell to be interrogated.

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 03/12/2022 17:08

Not probably as widely known, and maybe not technically a conspiracy theory, but I firmly believe that the "Essex Boys" murders was not the work of gangland revenge/retaliation or a drugs deal gone wrong, but was a case of state sanctioned murder to deal with out of control criminals. No judgement from me tho.

In what way is religion a conspiracy theory?

It's the opium of the masses...

Still not CT criteria.

That a cure for cancer exists but big Pharma make more from the current system of treatments and drugs than they would if a cure was available.

Would only make sense if cancer was a single disease. It really isn't.

Okay, my screaming hot conspiracy take is that the moon landings definitely happened, but they were worried about the picture broadcast not being good enough/failing (because no one had ever broadcast live from discs before), so as a back up they recreated it in a studio and that's what everyone saw.

This! I can believe man landed on the moon but think it unlikely that (given tv technology was so new and only developing) they were able to send the signal back to earth with no issues.
Also think covid accidentally leaked from a lab in wuhan; but don’t know if it’s conspiracy as read an article on this in BMJ so think it’s accepted as possible now ?!

Comedycook · 03/12/2022 20:09

I believe Princess Diana was murdered

thenightsky · 03/12/2022 11:50

I don't believe that Dr David Kelly committed suicide.

I totally agree with you here.

i also believe a not very talked about conspiracy theory about a convicted child murderer not being guilty at all but it usually goes down like a lead balloon so I tend to just keep it to myself.

See my earlier post, they'd been sending back TV from space for years.

Hobbi · 03/12/2022 20:18

@SueD1 tv technology wasn't that new in 1969!

EmmaAgain22 · 03/12/2022 20:20

lnbc not heard that.

pp mentioned the crypto deaths recently. I don't read the news now but even I heard about those and it is certainly striking.

I don't believe that Dr David Kelly committed suicide.

Likewise, Jeffrey Epstein

Ninini · 03/12/2022 20:23

My new fave theory is to do with the case of Bella and the Wych-Elm. She was supposedly caught up in a secret Nazi spy ring but was never able to be identified because her body mysteriously went missing years later from the archives in Worcester. Working at the archives at the same time the body disappeared was a young Stella Rimington, who then went on to be head of MI5.... coincidence probably, but makes for a cracking conspiracy theory!

OliverBabish · 03/12/2022 20:46

That Jeffrey Epstein didn’t kill himself

however - I do believe David Kelly did end his own life

Lesserspottedmama · 03/12/2022 20:52

Not the things you mentioned except perhaps JFK’s death possibly having more to it than we are told… but elite paedophile rings, Epstein’s ‘suicide’, Dr David Kelly’s death.. I’m sure there has been so much that has been covered up in government, the royal family etc over the years. Seems incredibly naive to think that we know everything and are always told the whole truth and nothing but.
