Just read on a thread that dominos make donations to anti abortion groups 🙄 v annoying as if true I wouldn't buy from them, but my DS is a mega fan.

Who do you boycott and why?

You first OP

TreacsPotNoodle · 24/06/2022 17:07

Starbucks.

They refused to give the firefighters at 911 free water and tried to charge them.

Plus the coffee is shit anyway.

TeddyTonks · 24/06/2022 17:10

I'm not fantastically political but I won't buy from the body shop due to their behaviour towards JK Rowling.

The founder of Domino's made contributions to anti-abortion groups, but the actual company didn't and doesn't.

Kinsters · 24/06/2022 17:11

Yorkie bars which I have boycotted for almost 20 years since their not for girls advert. It's silly and makes no difference especially as I don't boycott whoever actually makes yorkies (nestle or one of those I assume). Won't ever buy one though.

I'm trying to boycott Boeing but haven't really tested that as we've only flown a route with our usual airline that was airbus planes anyway. Not sure how realistic it is to actually boycott Boeing.

Oh yes I forgot about this! I'm avoiding them too. Plus their whole MLM thing.

tedgran · 24/06/2022 17:15

Going to boycott Sainsburys, they have just sent me an email boasting about their commitment to LGBQT!

Flockameanie · 24/06/2022 17:16

Ryanair. Because they’re shit and on a mission to make flying as unpleasant as possible.

Skinnermarink · 24/06/2022 17:17

a pub near me because it’s rubbish and they tried to charge me £16.85 for a vodka and coke.

Snowpatrolling · 24/06/2022 17:18

I have boycotted frankie and bennies, haven’t stepped foot in one in years!
i ordered a chicken tikka lasagne and it only had 3 small bits of chicken in!
I said something to the waitress but got shrugged at. I still hold a grudge over that as I was so looking forward to it!!

I was going to say the same. Last time I flew with them (20 years ago), they charged the couple in front of me for 1kg excess luggage because one of them was 1kg over BUT the other was 1kg under the limit. I was outraged on their behalf. So mean.

nooboonoo · 24/06/2022 17:21

Anything with palm oil in it

2catsandhappy · 24/06/2022 17:25

Mr Kipling and McVities. Read that they don't use free range hen eggs.
Might have used too. Not now it seems.

OhWifey · 24/06/2022 17:26

Nestle due to historic (and enduring, more subtly) appalling undermining of breastfeeding in developing countries.

Going to boycott Sainsburys, they have just sent me an email boasting about their commitment to LGBQT!

Sainsburys recently announced that the female staff locker rooms/toilets will be open to males and they won't accept complaints from female colleagues

AndStand · 24/06/2022 17:27

Not sure about your Dominoes vlaim OP?
Their founder was anti-abortion but he sold up in the 1990's.

I boycott Lush because of their pro trans stance.

TeddyTonks · 24/06/2022 17:29

It's not my claim- I just said I read it on another thread. Need to verify it before I start avoiding them, if it's true.

OP posts:
TheVolturi · 24/06/2022 17:32

KFC. Just awful.

33goingon64 · 24/06/2022 17:34

Dyson. Do I need to explain why?

MerryLeg · 24/06/2022 17:40

Innocent (smoothies and juice company).

They behaved terribly towards one of their followers on Twitter when a troll accused her of being a TERF.

MintJulia · 24/06/2022 17:45

The USA. I stopped going when Trump was elected, and skiied in Canada instead. Trump is history but after today's news I won't be going back any time soon.

Volkswagon Audi. The whole emissions cheating program left me not knowing which bits they lie about and which bits to believe so I avoid them completely.

BloodyHellKen · 24/06/2022 17:47

I boycott the Labour Party, The Green Party and The Lib Dems because of their lack of support for single sex spaces.

I previously voted for all of them over a 30 year timespan.

It's the Greens I'm most disappointed by tbh. I'm an ardent environmentalist and I feel they've really let their core green issues fall by the wayside 😞

LadyHelenaJustina · 24/06/2022 17:47

Dyson
Wetherspoons
The Sun (Newspaper, though I won't be going to the star either)
Sky (The TV service, not the space above our heads)
TV programmes with Laurence Fox in them...

Others. It's a long list.

SirChenjins · 24/06/2022 17:50

Snag tights
Lush (as above)
Tesla (will never, ever buy a car from that godawful Musk - makes my eye twitch whenever I see one)
A local curry house who are run by crooks
