A good cheese scone is delicious, unfortunately they very rarely have enough cheese in unless you make them yourself so I never order them out.

Delicious when used as a cobbler to top a stew. Also lovely toasted with bacon on a Sunday morning.

Best to double the amount of cheese in them! So if the recipe says 4 oz - put half in the mixture, and half on top; put all 4 oz in the mixture, and another 2 oz on top!

Great with lentil and vegetable soup!

I agree that fruit scones are awful but I can see the logic in putting them in scones but cheese and scones shouldn't be in the same room let alone the same recipe and don't get me started on those of you who compound the horror by adding Marmite.
