I fucking HATE this word (light hearted)

... delicious.

It gives me The Ick. Hate it. When I am Queen it shall be executed. Ironically I don't really mind the worst moist, which is universally hated. What words do you hate? Don't really like the word "meal" either. It's just so... weak.

Demolished, as in DS completely demolished his dinner and was asking for more.
Roasties
Holiday cottage

tkwal · 28/05/2022 23:35

Another Americanism-saying someone is "obligated" to do something, makes me want to scream.

And people saying they should OF,could OF, would OF done something 😠

Carlycat · 28/05/2022 23:39

Pussy for a part of the female anatomy 😡 I have 5 cats and if I had a quid for every lewd comment I've had in respect of my feline friends I'd be a wealthy woman

Carlycat · 28/05/2022 23:40

ObjectionSustained · 28/05/2022 14:34

Oh, and when people start sentences with 'So...'

This! And I'm guilty myself! I piss myself off 😆

Banter

This one makes me want to punch walls

Johnnysgirl · 28/05/2022 23:44

Carlycat · 28/05/2022 23:42

Yes. Bantz is even worse.

AirGirl · 28/05/2022 23:55

I can't stand it when people pronounce assume as "ashume" and when they use "whilst" instead of while. Every time I hear either of those things I think "tu es en retard" 😄😄😆

Carlycat · 28/05/2022 23:56

Can I get instead of can I have Angry

Johnnysgirl · 28/05/2022 23:58

This whole thread has blood pressure increasing properties... All the petty annoyances gathered together in one long list 😄

wildasthewind · 29/05/2022 00:19

Hate the word clitoris sorry

Words · 29/05/2022 06:30

So many. So very, very many.

Some food related ones:

Tub ( of food etc) Inexplicably loathe this word.
Sides
Mains
"I've made roast chicken." No, you've cooked roast chicken.
To follow
To your liking

Mispronunciations:

prostrate ( the gland)
Tumour -ick ( turmeric - I am looking at you, John Torode)

Also, thankfully no longer hear this since wfh:

"On a night out with work colleagues". Why the preposition? What other type of colleagues does one usually have?

Also, I give you:

"On the weekend"

And use of present rather than past tense of ' to text' :

" I text her last night"

Words · 29/05/2022 06:36

Meal. Oh yes, I hate that too.

picassobride · 29/05/2022 09:12

All users of the following utterances should be sent to the wall:
Minging
Lush (anything apart grass/meadow)
Grim ( only Reaper)
Bin him/her/it off
You aaaa'riight?
Baps ( iiick)
Sarnie
Chippy tea
Panties
Glam
Crotch

picassobride · 29/05/2022 09:17

Electric when meaning electricity.
Poorly.
Text used as past tense.

Housenoob · 29/05/2022 11:22

'Tea' when it's used to mean dinner (I will probably get flack for this one). Even worse when it's something like 'picky tea' or 'chippy tea'

When people say 'I was sat' rather than 'I was sitting'

TheyAreMinerals · 29/05/2022 11:28

Oh God, slacks. I hate it the most. Like you either wear slacks or a dress with panny hose, because you're a lady 🤮.

herewegogoagain · 29/05/2022 11:36

Pickle as in ‘we’re in a pickle’ or referring to their kids as little pickles 🤮

Safe as in ‘stay safe’ absolutely can’t stand it.

herewegogoagain · 29/05/2022 11:39

Also ‘off of’ instead of just ‘off’ as in ‘’I got off of the bus”

What about “does that tickle your pickle” with a leer and a waggle of eyebrows?

MyFourthName · 29/05/2022 12:02

Hiya

'Pack up' for a packed lunch - regional I know.

Plate up.

I don't mind moist. Got disproportionately irritated with a team at work that were banging on about their hate of the word when we had to use it it in the context of moisture content.

So the r word is an acceptable word to use??

Trulyweird1 · 29/05/2022 12:28

@AirGirl Whilst is typically Scottish, and whilst some of us have lower IQ than others, we are not all ‘r#@£&#s’
Vous ete vile.

‘Fell about’ when they mean they laughed.

HappyHappyHermit · 29/05/2022 13:33

@AirGirl Whilst is perfectly normal, you have used a term which is rude.
