Boris Johnson appears to blame Remainers for allegations that he’s a liar.

“People throw all sorts of accusations at me about all sorts of things, ever since I drove around with a sign on a bus and they have all sorts of reasons for saying that."

Boris Johnson says Partygate has "been a totally miserable experience for people in government."

Brexit was 51/49%?

I'm pretty sure more than 49% of the country disapprove of him from the ratings I've seen? Perhaps he's as shit at maths as he is with being able to understand laws he's passed.

ClaudineClare · 01/06/2022 13:48

Nothing is his fault. he is suck a sack of shit.

Bretonbear · 01/06/2022 13:48

Brilliant interview highlighting the art of gaslighting. What an odious horror of a PM. No integrity, empathy, honest or decency.

ClaudineClare · 01/06/2022 13:49

Such not suck. Although maybe suck works...

Roussette · 01/06/2022 13:49

Heck, he's hardly eloquent is he? Errrr.....ummmm.... errrrrr..... ummmmm.... ummmmm.....ahhhh....errrrr.... he is painful to listen to.

It makes me sick that he emphasises how miserable it was for people 'in government'. What the actual fuck does he think the rest of the country were doing?

"I thought I was saying goodbye to a colleague'. Eff off. Well done itsgettingweird. Exactly right. Is he thick? Why does he not get the point that saying goodbye to a colleague is a little different to saying goodbye to a loved one at a funeral?

😇😇😇😇😇😇

Never had one of my questions asked before. Shame he didn't even attempt to answer it.

Did he think morale was high outside of the walls of DS and Whitehall with people not able to attend their loved ones dying hours, burning loved ones in body bags inside coffins with 10 people SD?

The guy is just proving what an I'll informed twat he is more and more as the days go on.

ClaudineClare · 01/06/2022 13:51

So has that interview not won anyone round? Can't think why not...

DuncinToffee · 01/06/2022 13:54

I am half way through (on childcare now) but he really didn't like those first questions did he. With the price of living costs he can just rattle off the Tory propaganda and he stops with the uh's and fidgeting.

MN did a transcript with Sunak so I expect they will do the same this time

InMySpareTime · 01/06/2022 14:02

My questions didn't make the cut 😞. Not that he'd have answered them anyway.
I thought it was very telling that he couldn't think of a single children's book. He's clearly never read any of his children a story. You could see the mad scramble through his memory for any kind of junior literary reference. He didn't even know which Dr "soyss" book he was quoting, and as for "no time for fun...work to be done" he has brass neck comparing that to the performance of his office!

DuncinToffee · 01/06/2022 14:07

My question was similar to the one asked about the NIP and the GFA.
Could have predicted the non answer.

And what is it with the jabbing finger.

Peregrina · 01/06/2022 14:10

Sunak made a fool of himself when interviewed. It seems that Johnson is doing likewise. Will one of the other Cabinet members be brave enough to come on?

Still give him is due, we all thought that he would cry off.

itsgettingweird · 01/06/2022 14:11

I couldn't help but add in the bit about being able to hold leaving drinks after the restrictions were lifted compared to funerals because they can't be held other than at the time available.

He looked so uncomfortable. And so he should - throughout the whole of that.

The more he's dragged out in public to defend the indefensible the more he's showing himself for what he is.

Blossomtoes · 01/06/2022 14:16

I wondered if he had an ear piece with someone feeding him answers on the kids’ book question. It’s a huge leap from not being able to name a single title to coming up with an apposite quote. He thought it was going to be a walk in the park, didn’t he?

DuncinToffee · 01/06/2022 14:18

You can see why they keep him away from interviews.

I thought Justine did quite well. At least she could hide behind her papers and mostly avoid the man spreading

Notonthestairs · 01/06/2022 14:23

Great question Itsgettingweird.

I'd imagine Johnson was supplied with the questions in advance - he still couldn't provide a straight answer.

Roussette · 01/06/2022 15:02

How embarrassing him rabbiting on about Dr. Seuss. He really is a plank isn't he.
What an embarrassing interview, I agree he probably thought it would be a walk in the park. There was no positivity about it, he just made himself look and sound idiotic.

I'm away at the moment, and the internet is dire in speed.

Does anyone want to start a new thread which will be Number 6?

It would be very frustrating for me to try and do it, with these speeds!

There's no hurry, we're up to about 970 in posts.

I don't think partygate is going away any time soon.

He doesn't read to his kids, the liar. He would have been able to come up with something straight away if he did. Vile man.

Notonthestairs · 01/06/2022 15:37

Our kids are young teenagers now but we can still recite the words to The Gruffalo, The Gruffalos Child, Stick Man and We Are Going on a Bear Hunt (suspect I could do a hammy rendition of Cars & Frozen too).

I don't really care whether he reads to his kids or not - that's between him, his wives and his kids - but he would have better off just saying he doesn't do it all that often. Honesty being the best policy and all that.

Piggywaspushed · 01/06/2022 15:42

Cat In The Hat is widely agreed to be anti Capitalist. Poor choice...

Blossomtoes · 01/06/2022 16:14

he would have better off just saying he doesn't do it all that often

But we all know his first instinct is to lie. I don’t think he even knows he’s doing it.

carefullycourageous · 01/06/2022 16:46

That was an embarrassing interview. He's fundamentally rubbish.

newnamethanks · 01/06/2022 16:58

Was curious to read the comments under the 'Boris on MN shock'. Gosh, where have all the Bozo hoorays gone? Off to keep company with those who are conspicuous by their absence from this thread? Surely we're just waiting for Brutus to turn up? Although I suppose there's a taxpayer paid knees up first to get through at Chequers this weekend? I expect that's why Mrs J has had to ditch the experienced housekeeper and hire 4 new staff to see them through their strenuous programme of indulgence.

newnamethanks · 01/06/2022 17:08

To read in the Daily Mail, known home to bigots and Bozo lovers everywhere.

DuncinToffee · 01/06/2022 17:08

Adam Bienkov
Nadine Dorries tells the World at One that there are “one or two individuals behind the scenes” running a co-ordinated campaign against the Prime Minister.

Asked who they are, she replies that "I have no idea.”
