Feeling nostalgic and thinking back to my favourite concerts I’ve been to in my time.

Mine would be Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, P!nk, Rihanna, Evanescence, Eminem, Christina Aguilera.

I envy those 10+ years older than me that got to experience some incredible performers such as Michael Jackson, live in concert.

Ah @runnerblade95 I wish I could answer your question but in all honesty I just can't remember.
But I agree any Korn fan is a friend of mine, so pleased to meet you Brew

Ah no worries! It was such a controversial song (for obvious reasons) and I understand they performed it more recently, around 2019? Which must have been so heartbreaking for Jonathon to perform 😢 but would love to have experienced it live and in person back when they were in their prime. I hope they performed Coming Undone? That’s my shit!

Pleased to meet you too my fellow KoRn fan!🍷

Rage against the machine, Glastonbury 94.

10,000 person mosh pit. We were peaking on acid at the time, and it was a mix of bright sunshine and thunderstorms.

You're my kind of person 👍

Levellers - Ally pally
Teenage me went in a camper an with friends older sibling, pot was smoked.

My most seen band!! Forever a fan!

richardhammondsgoatee · 17/05/2022 20:39

So many! I don't have one best.

Aerosmith who I wasn't that excited about as saw them at download and loads of my faves were playing but I was so close to Steven Tyler and he's such a legend I ended up fan-girling hard!

Alice Cooper with Nina Strauss on guitar OMG legendary!

Black Sabbath on "The End" tour. So amazing!! And so glad I saw it as we've had tickets for Ozzy which have been delayed for 3 years now. Not sure we'll ever see him again!

Metallica at the O2 were epic!

And we saw Rammstein in Oslo in the football stadium which was one of the best gigs ever! (Support act was ropey though!) seeing them again next month.

First gig after lockdown was Wildhearts, one of the best nights ever!!

And recently took my 13 year old to see one of our family faves Creeper. Her first proper gig, we were right next to the pit and she bloody loved it! Also had another family fave Vukovi supporting so she was well happy!

stormsurfer · 17/05/2022 20:49

Eurythmics. Annie Lennox's voice is the only one I've heard where I've experienced my hairs standing on end like everyone talks about.

Livpool · 17/05/2022 20:51

Prince, Pink, the Killers and Ah Ha

SpeedofaSloth · 17/05/2022 20:51

Chemical Brothers.

Cooroo · 17/05/2022 21:08

Bowie at Milton Keynes god knows when

Nick Cave - who I saw because my DP likes him, and I was blown away.

Bruce Springsteen - ditto

The Enid in the '70s

Lonelycrab · 17/05/2022 21:08

Metallica at the O2 were epic!

The only time I saw Metallica, around 92 I think, I had a migraine when we got there. Tried to headbang it off and that didn’t go well. I hardly ever get migraines but of all days…ffs, really good gig ruined 😠

runnerblade95 · 17/05/2022 21:28

Anyone ever seen Amy Winehouse live? That voice just gives me goosebumps. Favourite song is undoubtedly Love is a Losing Game…

AnneShirleysNewDress · 17/05/2022 21:32

My 14 year old self would say Take That at the SECC 😂 Oasis at Loch Lomond and Paolo Nutini at Glasgow Green were both fantastic.

Gutted! Lots of people get all purist about Metallica but they're still awesome and I'm loving their latest stuff. Hoping they'll play download next year!

Saw INXS about 1991, there was something special about MH, he had a sort of aura about him. He was a special someone.

Bon Jovi at Wembley in the 90s. It was amazing van Halen were supporting so it was brilliant. Then black label society about 17 years ago then black stone cherry not too long ago. I need to go to another concert soon

I think we were at the same concert. Agree It was amazing.

cantsaveme · 17/05/2022 22:04

Rammstein and the best I've ever seen because it's pure theatrics.

However, I've seen the Levellers more times than I can count and they've never played me wrong. Such a shame Simon has taken a step back because the man is a legend.

HazelBite · 17/05/2022 22:13

In the 60's The Rolling Stones
In the 70's The Drifters and the Sylistics
In the 80's (to busy bringing up DC's)
In the 90's Bon Jovi and Billy Joel
In the 2000's Elton John and Billy Joel
Recently The Rag n' Bone Man (what a voice!)

Looking forward to June as seeing Imagine Dragons and Rag n Bone Man

runnerblade95 · 17/05/2022 22:36

@HazelBite Recently The Rag n' Bone Man (what a voice!)

Yes!

Nissalabella · 17/05/2022 22:39

I have tons!

Dolly Parton at the NEC, I booked to see her twice before and had to cancel but the third time was the charm

Meatloaf at Warwick Castle. He was so full of energy and over the top theatrics, plus there was a Pimms bar

Paul Simon in Birmingham, pure perfection

REM in a tiny outdoor theatre in Nice at sunset, unforgettable

The Rolling Stones in Nice, height of the summer, massive crowd, Keith Richards did a running slide across the stage into the splits and had to be helped up by a roadie, epic stuff

Mika just before he was massive after his first album, he was so shy and polite onstage, he seems like a lovely bloke

Elton John because he is the ultimate showman, 2 hours of non-stop bangers and banter

Lady Gaga, I was on crutches following an accident and got upgraded to a special area for people needing assistance right in front of the stage, she killed it.

Worst concert ever- Madonna in about 2008, she walked onstage, never said a word to the crowd all night and was very obviously miming. Her dancing was incredible tho so I'll give her that

ThistlyPerf · 17/05/2022 23:00

Linkin Park - anywhere but particularly good at Astoria @ 2007

Pendulum , Slipknot - at their own gigs but also Download

Would love to have seen the Pixies in the late 80s tho!

Inthesameboatatmo · 18/05/2022 06:19

GreenWillowAndCatkins · 17/05/2022 16:45

I rather think we were at the same gig.

@GreenWillowandCatkins.

How cool is that !

KatherineJaneway · 18/05/2022 06:54

Rod Stewart also surprised me, as wasn't really a fan but bought tickets for my mum and I LOVED it! He is awesome, seen him twice now 😊

Agree. I went to one of his concerts at Wembley Arena in the 90's as I'd been given free tickets. He was a brilliant showman.

Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary concert in New York City right before 9/11. 7th September for me. Electrifying to see Michael with his brothers again with his parents watching on.

I would have loved to have seen them together. I never had a chance to see The Jacksons live 😔 I had a seat four rows from the front for This Is It the day after my birthday 😢

I saw George Michael a few times, his voice was amazing. One of the best ones was World AIDS Day at Wembley Arena with Princess Diana in the audience. George was spectacular but also Mick Hucknall and KD Lang were amazing too. I can see myself in the audience when I watch a particular clip 😃
