A positive and uplifting thread, hopefully people will give proper names as it’s a compliment to the celebs!

I haven’t met any so can’t say but would love to know who’s lovely.

Also, Clive Owen was nice but weird.

Jay Kay - Jamiroquai . Up in the Scottish Highlands. Absolutely lovely man. Very handsome and a very kind person. He talked to all the people near him in the pub and came across as intelligent and a very nice individual. Not at all full of himself. Just a genuinely interesting and polite person who got on with everyone. Even saw him shopping in the tiny store mixing with everyone and queueing up to pay for his groceries.

I wonder if any celebrities read these threads to see if they get a mention.

Also, has anybody ever met Rosie Marcel (Jac Naylor from Holby) I'd love to know if she's as nice as she appears on her Instagram.

@LisaSimpson77 She went to my school when she was in growing pains. Didn't really have anything to do with her at the time as I was in the year below, but a friend described her as "conceited". Take it with a pinch of salt, I say.

Scouting For Girls - we met them at a Meet & Greet prior to them playing at a festival in our town. I thought it would be a 30-second hello and selfie but they spent ages chatting with my excited daughter and her friends, they were cool and funny and so patient with the kids taking endless photos with them!

Interesting, a friend of mine went to school with Jodie Comer and described her as conceited too...I'll take them both with a pinch of salt!! 😆

What a lovely, refreshing thread.
Glad to hear about Jerome Flynn.
Love him in GOT
Soldier, soldier
And of course his singing ❤️

Iwanttenofthose · 11/05/2022 04:45

Sheridan Smith is lovely

George Michael
I skidded off my bicycle and he was walking his dogs near his house. He insisted I come back and clean up. His sister was there and we all had tea in his garden. I didn't realise who he was till much later.

Only a very brief meeting, but I once went to the filming of House Of Fools (the Reeves and Mortimer sitcom). Afterwards, as the studio audience all walked outside into the parking lot, Bob appeared at a door and shook hands and thanked/exchanged a few words with every single one of us. I thought that was extremely nice of him.

George was the loveliest 😍

Not entirely relevant, but teenaged me shared a lift with the Bergerac man (having a brain moment, his names vanished).

I nearly fainted from the guys charisma. Seriously overwhelming.

John nettles! That's the chap. Seriously heart thumpingly gorgeous.

No idea what he's like. I couldn't say a word! Could barely breathe! Blush

Ross Kemp- met him at a private function. He spent the evening dancing away with my then 5 year old son trying to learn how to floss and making my son feel like he was the best dancer on the floor. So warm and friendly!

Victoria Beckham- shops at my uncles place. She is so particular with what she wants/likes but not in a snobby way. She just knows what she likes and strong minded. She's really down to earth and funny.

Kanye West- again shops with my uncle. Really chilled out, loves to talk about mundane stuff like tea and takes a genuine interest in you as an individual. He's a no-frills kinda guy and happy to accommodate photo requests etc.

Jimmy Carr- met him in Starbucks before a show many years ago. We were only 15 at the time and he put down his coffee and his book to give us 20mins of life advice and a few jokes as we were all fans.

Oh and I once worked for a few weeks with James Purefoy who was absolutely lovely always. Very gentle natured. Years ago before he was famous so I hope he still is.

Ohh James Purefoy in a knights tale is just the epitome of gorgeous. Glad to hear he is nice too, he can definitely come and live with me!

highdaysandholudays · 14/05/2022 07:02

@BonjourCrisette I saw Clive Owen many years ago at Cheltenham races. I worked for the Tote and was taking bets in a bar where he was with a friend He was very young, still in Chancer and I got the impression he was trying to take it all in. His friend spoke to me and placed bets and was very chatty whilst he hung back. Incredibly handsome. I was very young myself and desperate to talk to him!

What sort of shop does your uncle have and where is it!?!?!?

AngeloMysterioso · 14/05/2022 20:13

Honestly? Johnny Depp. Although Jason Momoa is a close second

WildRosie · 14/05/2022 20:28

I passed Roger Daltrey in a hotel corridor many years ago. It was a fleeting meeting but we exchanged pleasantries so that told me he was likely to be an all right sort of chap.

Ionacat · 14/05/2022 21:24

Alan Titchmarsh is lovely, he is out and about quite a bit locally. Will Young from his pre famous days was always polite and friendly.

Mothership4two · 11/03/2023 01:49

Ben Fogle and James Lance

Mothership4two · 11/03/2023 01:51

Just realised this thread is from 2022.

Oh well it's a nice one if it gets resurrected

bloodyplanes · 11/03/2023 10:23

I sat and had a coffee and cigarette with June Brown once, she was a genuinely lovely lady! Sylvester McCoy was also lovely. Chesney Hawkes was very polite and sweet! Ive met all the Royals and all were very nice apart from princess Margaret and Prince Andrew who were both rude and made it clear they would rather be anywhere else! Jeremy Kyle is rude and arrogant and Nicola from girls aloud has all the personality of a brick wall!

Enko · 11/03/2023 10:48

John Cleese

Used to come to a cheese and wine shop I worked in many years ago. He was funny kind and patient. As time got on because he knew us well he would at times linger to chat. I was a fan before meeting him but getting to know him a bit made me even more so.

Also omg he is tall

DrNo007 · 12/03/2023 18:13

Second vote for Alan Titchmarsh. What you see on TV (lovely man) is what he is in real life (lovely man).
