Nicest celebrity you’ve ever met?

A positive and uplifting thread, hopefully people will give proper names as it’s a compliment to the celebs!

I haven’t met any so can’t say but would love to know who’s lovely.

Brooke Vincent is lovely. Very down to earth and a very attentive mum to her boys.

Pete Waterman is brilliant. Andy Burnham (not sure he counts as a celeb but I love him) is also really nice. I've come across both of them through my role at work and both remembered/remember my name, ask how I am, etc. It means a lot to me, especially with Andy who will come across hundreds of people a week that he remembers my name and asks how I am. That probably sounds really pathetic but my role can quite often been seen as bottom of the pecking order by the senior people who attend, so it's nice for me.

Andy Burnham's brother Nick was the principle of my sixth form college. He was great, although I don't think I ever had a one-on-one conversation with him seeing as my college had over 4000 pupils. He insisted that we call him Nick, not Mr Burnham, because he didn't think respect should be based on names, and that extended to the rest of the teachers. I always wondered if his brother was as down to earth.

My nicest celebrity is Maxine Peake. I worked with her one summer when I was younger, a total dream for me as theatre/ music is not what I've ended up in as a career. She was proper lovely, taught me a lot and was very patient as I stepped out of my comfort zone. She's also just a very normal person, though with that energy that I suppose a lot of actors have, and always ready to help out.

Met the guys from Foals at the weekend and they were lovely.

Also Josie Lawrence, Simon Callow and Ben Kingsley.

Andy Crane was a knob though.

I didn't meet him but I was once in a branch of Eat. having lunch when a lady walking past dropped her shopping bag without noticing. I was just about to nip out and say to her when a chap on the street scooped it up and caught up with her and gave her it back. It was Ant from Ant or Dec. I know he's a had his troubles but I thought that was nice of him.

Wendy Richard was nice and polite when I worked at Pebble Mill years ago. The absolute loveliest celeb I have met though is Will Young. So adorable and sweet!

Oooh ooh ooh and Alan Rickman let me go in front of him in the queue in Sommerfield buying a sandwich when I was a teen. That was the point when I started liking older men come to think of it...

I need this story! I had such a crush on David Boreanaz. I must have watched the Dido music video he was in a gazillion times

Although my opinion of him was tarnished by his affairs, I still have a soft spot for his brown eyes!

Annie Lennox - exceptionally kind to my young daughter and chatty with her.

Emilia Fox - down to earth, talks to everyone and very funny

Mary Mastrantonio - utterly beautiful with incredibly gentle and kind manner about her.

Ronni Ancona - very shy and reserved but very funny

Glenn Matlock from the Sex Pistols.

Worked and met tons of famous people, but he was the one person who, on the first time we spoke and had gone on his way, DP and me looked at one another and squealed and jumped up and down like a pair of 17 year old girls. Absolutely lovely.

Keith Allen is another. DP was really ill with the flu, fainted before soundcheck and Keith went into full on Dad mode and looked after him until it was time to go on stage. It probably helped that despite his age, DP is about the size of the average 15 year old lad

Greg James. He was doing a paid appearance at a professional rugby club Xmas do and he has brought his parents along, which I thought was sweet. Very lovely, listened politely to drunk me sing the 'im going home' song (I knowwww) and made polite chat and let me take a picture with him. It all felt genuine from him.

I can concur with this, I spent a whole morning with him and he bought me and DH lunch!

Ozzie Yue who was the Chinese man in that Father Ted episode and Nuns on the Run. Him and his wife are absolutely lovely.
Claire King is very friendly, funny and down to earth.

I’m quite embarrassed at how happy I am to read this! We love him in our house.. very pleased to hear he’s as lovely as he seems! 😁

Armin van Buuren - brought my super-inebriated brother personally back to our hotel in Ibiza at 4am after a massive set, brought him to the hotel room then spent an hour talking to me after my brother blurted I was a massive fan. (Still am 20+ years later!)

I've lived my whole life out in the sticks, so have only ever met a small handful of celebs.

Nicest was probably David Nicholls, very charming. Also Toyah Wilcox - just out and about, very nice and polite to staff.

Randomly it was Olly Murs. Really, really lovely and went out of his way to come over and speak to my family when it wouldn’t have been rude not to. Spent time talking with us and was just really down to Earth, lovely and kind. Bit of a fan now Blush

Stephen Finn. DH won a day training with England cricket team and at lunch time while rest of team scoffing food he came over to chat to the few children who were there. Went off and came back with food for them from hospitality that was meant for players and competition winners. A few people with children came a bit early to collect. He spent nearly his whole break chatting with them and some only toddlers.

Tom fletcher, really friendly, chatty, genuinely interested in talking to people. Told me my dungarees were really cool 😂

We were at a book signing and his team were going up and down the queue saying no photos just an autograph.

At the front of the queue he had a Waterstones staff member positioned infront of him to grab phones and get a quick photo 😂
