Used to go to lots of concerts/gigs in my younger year, then had dc and not been to one for ages. Say watching my old favourite on you tube and just wondering what’s the best gig/concert you have ever been to and where was it

David Bowie at the Brighton Dome in 1973!

LoudingVoice · 06/05/2022 22:40

Oh my god hard to pick!

Primal Scream at the Apollo in Manchester about 2015, they did Screamadelica all the way through then we went out afterwards and just never wanted to go home.

Groove Armada at Glastonbury 2001, takes me back every time I hear Super stylin, and Foo Fighters at Glastonbury- just incredible 😊

Purringcat3 · 06/05/2022 22:41

Any Gaga arena gig tbh.

StillMedusa · 06/05/2022 22:42

Queen Live Magic tour, Wembley. 1986
Yes I'm old Grin
NOTHING have ever come close and I've been to a lot of concerts.
Freddie Mercury just held a crowd like no-one else could, and when the whole stadium joined in with Bohemian Rhapsody... it was incredible!

Wham! The Finale. But due to me being the only female, the boys decided "We" needed to leave early to find a Pub, They dragged me away and they never did find a bloody pub nearby!

Would have loved to have seen queen but I was only 12 when Freddie Mercury passed away

Queen, Birmingham NEC 1980 or 1981. Absolutely brilliant, Freddie was an incredible front man

We saw Muse at the Arsenal ground in London and they absolutely blew us away. Saw them 2 years later at the O2 and it was terrible..... never listened to any of their music since!

Coldplay are very marmite on MN but their live shows are breathtaking. We saw them pre Covid at Wembley and it was electrifying.

Mercedesbenz2022 · 06/05/2022 22:45

Needmorelego · 06/05/2022 22:47

Green Day at Milton Keynes in 2005. I love the fact the official album release of the tour was the Milton Keynes show.

DrFoxtrot · 06/05/2022 22:47

Arcade Fire at Manchester a few years ago. They played the encore while walking through the crowd at the end Star all the different instruments. Completely awesome.

This is so outing if my ex is still following my every move.

His Company was charged with removing all the flowers outside of Freddie's home. He came home that night with the most BEAUTIFUL bunch of peach roses. I was so naïve at the time. He said it was because he wanted to express his love for me.

He confessed the next day where they had actually come from, This was number 10 is why I just had to divorce him...

Libertaire · 06/05/2022 22:50

Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Coventry 2013. They played the Born
to Run album from start to finish during an astonishing 3.5 hour show. Without question the best live band ever.

twistingmylemon · 06/05/2022 22:51

Portishead, Dance tent Glastonbury 1995.

noideabutstilltrying · 06/05/2022 22:51

I was at Knebworth in 1996. Such a good day.

Managed to see bootleg Beatles, ocean colour scene, chemical brothers, prodigy and oasis.

Top gig!

Gliblet · 06/05/2022 22:52

Rammstein headlining Sonisphere - would have been worth the weekend ticket just for that performance.

The Sensitive New Age Cowpersons at Towersey Folk Festival, very different kind of fabulous but I've never forgotten that gig.

Also, Adam Ant about 10 years ago playing the Corn Exchange in Bedford Grin Random and tiny but he was an absolutely fantastic performer.

Philandbill · 06/05/2022 22:53

Queen at Knebworth. It was their last live performance, but didn't know that then. 😢David Bowie was also amazing on his greatest hits tour. And a Crowded House gig in about 2003, Neil Finn has a great rapport with an audience.

Prometheus · 06/05/2022 22:54

Marilyn Manson in Manchester in 1996.

Spudina · 06/05/2022 22:55

I love seeing Bryan Adams! But the shows Pink puts on are amazing.

ResentfulLemon · 06/05/2022 22:56

Despite being a rock/metal fan at heart, I can honestly say the best gig I've ever been to was Pink in Cardiff 2019.

She was phenomenal!

NeedWineNow · 06/05/2022 22:59

Foo Fighters - London Stadium
Fleetwood Mac including Christine McVie at the O2
The Eagles at the old Wembley Stadium. Came on and started with Hotel California just as the sun went down over the arches.

Clawdy · 06/05/2022 23:00

Paul McCartney at the Manchester Arena in 2003. Absolute magic. Never to be forgotten.

AnneElliott · 06/05/2022 23:03

Bob Jovi - Wembley - 1996. Amazing concert.

RampantIvy · 06/05/2022 23:04

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. Must have been about 1975. I am old.
