thanks for the heads up - going on to watch now...

MilkyMamma · 04/05/2022 20:08

I can't decide if she deserves an Oscar or if it's really actually an awful case of abuse.

MilkyMamma · 04/05/2022 20:09

It feels so scripted!

Where can I watch it?

noideabutstilltrying · 04/05/2022 20:14

I would struggle to talk about the abuse with such language

She's not very credible

Alcibiade · 04/05/2022 20:14

Hard to tell until we get to the cross-examination

MilkyMamma · 04/05/2022 20:14

I've been watching on abcnews on TikTok

YouTube live trial. She is WELL rehearsed, sorry....

Meltinthemiddle · 04/05/2022 20:16

Yes coming across too rehearsed and scripted. I'm watching in Tyla on FB or Fox news.

I've been watching some of it.

This case is a real struggle for me, I've been called up when my ex husband was charged with dv, I shut down and answered without emotion so probably came across as inauthentic as well so I get it.

I'm not a fan of JD by any means, nor a fan of hers, I want to believe her because if she is lying it will do so many of us a huge injustice, but I just don't believe her, and I never thought I would say that about another woman.

JulyDreams · 04/05/2022 20:18

@Meltinthemiddle have you noticed Johnny hasn't looked at her once, constantly looking down. This is so sad.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 04/05/2022 20:18

I don't believe her. Its too rehearsed and shes been trying to charm the jury in the beginning. Im looking forward to cross examination although not sure when it will be.

She's giving her side of the story to the court so this is bound to have been rehearsed again and again.

CrossingItAll · 04/05/2022 20:22

I have never said this about any woman saying she is a victim of DV but I do not believe her.

She's talking like she's doing a monologue for the end of some sad film, the dirt on the carpet, her breath on the window of the car. She's waffling and padding because that's what people do when they lie.

Google it

PeekAtYou · 04/05/2022 20:23

In US legal dramas they talk about prepping the witness, could this be practising and tips like how to speak, where to look and what opposition lawyer is likely to ask?

Meltinthemiddle · 04/05/2022 20:24

Yes I get that but it just ott if that's the right term to describe it and not genuine. She's coming across like an actress and not herself. And what was the thing about him drinking tea, she seemed to emphasise that alot!

She reminds me of that part in Roald Dahl ‘the twits’ where they say about being horrible making you ugly and how goodness shines out of the faces of kind people or something along those lines ??

She is a very attractive person but the more this goes on she seems to look so much harsher if that makes sense

theRealBlueSmartie · 04/05/2022 20:27

Sorry I realise that appearance should be irrelevant but it’s just something that I’ve found really noticeable

peoplearepeople · 04/05/2022 20:27

I'm watching on the law and crime channel on youtube.
I'm inclined to believe her unlike most it would appear. I think they are both messed up people with a lot of issues, but I've been incredibly unimpressed with him over the last weeks of watching the trial.

I was just thinking that!

She looks so ugly now

dancelikeyoudontgiveafuck · 04/05/2022 20:29

The thing is she is an actress so it’s probably a natural thing to slip into that mode under stress to keep it together and be able to get everything across.
I don’t think seeming scripted is a reason to disbelieve her. If she was crying and wailing people would say she was overacting. I’m not sure if she can win tbh.
