Which her facial expression when there is an objection,
it’s very telling, it’s like it breaks the performance and her expression just goes blank.

also from a body language pov, watch how she acts out certain things as she’s describing what he did to her, she’s motioning it from the perpetrators pov, pushing and hitting out rather than doing the duck or the recoil that she would do as a reremembered the action, she’s trying to sell a narrative not retell her own experience.

Wineat5isfine · 04/05/2022 21:21

i don’t believe a word she says. She is so disingenuous and has clearly learnt her lines well.

As a victim of DV, I never thought I would feel this way.

She is courting the jury and seems to be repeating key statements using some form of subliminal messaging.

Crying / breaking down without any tears…

AdriftAbroad1 · 04/05/2022 21:22

TBH, some of these stories could be exaggerated versions of my relationships in my 20s.

I didnt take photos all the time. It helps with her detail I suppose.

Are they even married yet?

Very odd to remember tiny details and specific dialogue from a decade ago.

AdriftAbroad1 · 04/05/2022 21:25

Its getting ridiculous.

Manekinek0 · 04/05/2022 21:28

I wouldn't watch it, I hate the way American courts allow filming, it has become a circus.

I did see some videos of Depp whilst drunk, smashing stuff and passing out. His behaviour was terrible. I have read bits about her and how abusive she has been and her behaviour also sounds terrible. The truth will lie somewhere in the middle and they are both liars and awful people.

Meltinthemiddle · 04/05/2022 21:29

Maybe it's an American thing and the way they express themselves. MM came across like this on opera and didn't come across likeable or believeable. What was the thing about him drinking alot of tea though? He drank alot of tea 🙄

Mummyoflittledragon · 04/05/2022 21:32

Perhaps some of this is cultural? Americans don’t expect people to behave in the same way as in the U.K. I remember watching the documentary on the Louise Woodward trial, where she smirked / laughed. This was a British reaction and it seems this was interpreted maliciously by the American prosecution / jury.

Cross post. I was also thinking of Meghan.

Meltinthemiddle · 04/05/2022 21:32

God I wish I could remember how I felt about my dh in 2013 🙈. I don't know how any of them can remember that far back!

Well I thought so too, but I dont want the thread deleted.

BigFatLiar · 04/05/2022 21:37

Can't be bothered. She's apparently sacked her PR team because she wasn't getting good enough press. Much of her stories in the press etc appears to have been written for her so she'll need that script.

I suspect that truth has taken a holiday with this trial.

They are of course both actors though the only thing I've heard about her being in is Aquaman which was rubbish.

AdriftAbroad1 · 04/05/2022 21:37

A man twice my age...

Alcohol obviously is a point she wants to really bang home.

He had to drink tea as he had liver problems (inferring alcohol)

Here we go... his DCs

MarJau26 · 04/05/2022 21:39

I never believed her from the start. The fact that none of his exs can say the same as her is very telling. She is so devious and calculating , I don't think she expected him to take it this far.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 04/05/2022 21:39

I think, in spite of the acting, that he probably did do these things to her. I think he comes across as an out of control addict who is violent and nasty when under the influence. He tries to hide it, but I can fully believe he did these things. I used to like him, but he's gone right down in my estimation. It's a shame he's allows himself to be like that. He could easily get help.

AdriftAbroad1 · 04/05/2022 21:40

Oh he made her take drugs! On his private plane, on the way to his private island.

She was 26, had never taken them before😇

Tanfastic · 04/05/2022 21:41

I've been glued but I'm finding it hard to watch her, it feels very scripted and dramatic. I don't know what to think but the allegations she's making are shocking and they are coming and coming one after the other.

He hasn't looked at her once has he.

For someone who has a history of drugs and booze abuse as her nurse's notes suggest I'm astonished at the level of clarity and detail she claims to remember. I don't use drugs or drink alcohol and I could never describe the abuse I suffered in this way - I simply don't remember with that level of clarity - never did.

As a victim of DV, I hate myself for saying this as I feel I should believe her but I feel like I'm watching a very well rehearsed performance. Very controlled shift between distressed facial expressions and completely composed. She is disingenuous in the extreme. Most of her testimony seems to be about what he did like she was observing it, what she thinks / thought he should have done to sort out his life, on repeat.

theRealBlueSmartie · 04/05/2022 21:43

He looks like he would drink Earl Grey

Alliswells · 04/05/2022 21:46

I really want to believe her but that is one well rehearsed act so far. I am very uncomfortable watching her and not believing her.

Last week I was blown away by how strikingly beautiful she was. This week she seems ugly. Horrible to look at.

I'm going to hell aren't I?

yesterdaysbread · 04/05/2022 21:49

I’m watching, it does feel very over-rehearsed unfortunately. I can believe depp is a very jealous type and perhaps got aggressive at times. It can’t all be completely made up. But I can also believe the testimony he gave about Heard putting nail varnish on a tissue and saying he broke her nose, that and the way she ‘secretly’ filmed him after provoking him don’t paint an entirely innocent picture. They are both as bad as each other in my opinion

AdriftAbroad1 · 04/05/2022 21:50

Oh, she is bloody irritating. I think JD is doing well here. This is simply a character assasination.

Honestly, when do you get to the marriage? Are we going ro listen to every argument?

Oh, she loved and had a bond with his DCs allegedly.

yesterdaysbread · 04/05/2022 21:50

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation that’s a good point that he could get help, sad but true he has no excuses if he really wanted to change
