Girl I did my a levels with was a county athletics champion and one of the smartest kids in school. She went on to be a singer in a mediocre girl band.

Exotic dancer - and the most unlikely girl, as well!

Police officer, he used to sell drugs at school.

I was at school with a girl who went on to arrange the murder of both her parents. (Not sure that counts as a career though).

And a girl about 4 years younger who I remember as very quiet and shy turned into a well know comic actress.

Went to school with an absolute genius who was well into the Mensa category. They dropped out of uni a year in and started working at a fast food place. They're still there, 20 odd years later.

A very meek, quiet, shy girl in my class now teaches secondary kids in a not great school, still amazes me but bloody well good for her!

Someone who was in my class as school is a professional adventurer and happiness guru. He really is.

In school on Friday, all over the News of the World or equivalent on the Sunday, didn't come back to school on the Monday.

We were a convent school.

A Vicar. It was a surprising turn of events because we all went to a Catholic school and our teen rebellion was largely atheism based.

I knew she loved ballet, but to me she was just the girl next door but three.

A great friend of mine really struggled at school due to dyslexia, had many many mental health issues along the way and we were worried about her for a long time. She is now a senior mental health nurse about to finish her PhD and is married to a neurologist with two beautiful kids. Never would have guessed 15 years ago, couldn't be more proud of her.

@dontknowhow2help Oh very much so. Just looked her up, served 32 years in the USA, being released on parole only recently.

A girl I knew from nursery age, then all through primary and secondary school and then through college became a pole dancer/stripper for a few years, then out of the blue converted to Islam, married a Muslim man and moved to his home country.

I also know someone who became a pilot, though he always said it's what he would become, it's surprising because he did come across as a bit of a fantasist so no one ever actually believed him.
