My neighbour, I haven't a clue what she does for work, young glam woman.

I spot her fairly often leaving her house on foot, dressed very glam businesslike with some sort of pass on a lanyard and a laptop bag but then she always walks home again within 45 mins to an hour.

I want to ask her as it baffles me so much. If she works from home, and is just going for a walk, why does she bring her laptop? If she's going to work, what on Earth does she do for such a short period of time? I want her job

We live rural, think small village with no train station or regular buses!

Well now I want to know too ! Get out there at the same time and work it into the conversation

Maybe she works from home most of the time and just goes to an office which is in walking distance occasionally to print or file something?

Or maybe she's just going out for lunch/coffee and is supposed to stay in contact during core hours? Some people dress properly for work even when WFH and don't sit around in loungewear.

Many work phone systems are on Skype/Teams rather than handheld phones so she needs her laptop?

Perhaps she's an estate agent who works from home but goes out to viewings? I do hope it's something more exciting though 😂

She's pretending to her husband she is still employed so leaves the house as normal then returns once he's left? Scandalous

She'd set off 15 mins before I posted this which is what made me post and she's just walked back! I want to know! I go to the office for 8 hours and can't be bothered to get ready I'm quite impressed by her dedication for such a short trip!

She's got the nuclear codes on her laptop and isn't allowed to leave it unattended in case she gets burgled.

One of our neighbours is always suited, booted and with a lovely leather briefcase. Never ever seen him in a t-shirt or jeans etc in 8 years. He's an alcoholic (somewhat functioning) and puts his 'shopping' in there.

I used to work on things that needed to be submitted on a secure system. I‘d do the work at home, take my laptop to the office, let everything go through, get the next lot of work, go home and do it.

How many times a day does she do this ? Is it at different times ?

I often think my neighbours must wonder about my job. I'm a nurse but I have a niche job, I come and go from home, sometimes with my uniform on and sometimes in smart/casual with my lanyard on

Her laptop is solar power and she is giving it a Jolly Good Charge..

Would it be possible to get a bus to somewhere an office might be in that time? Maybe she clocks in, foes the morning briefing meeting, shows face and then slopes off home to chill for the rest of the day. Committed skiver.

She's song writer and goes for lovely inspirational walks singing her new tune ideas into the voice activated software on her laptop.
