Would you start a new thread as we're nearly at the end of this one, and I want to keep on top of developments

He may say he 'knows what a woman is ' but observation tells me it's more of a case of 'knowing what a woman is for'. That's not a recommendation.

I imagine a lot of people reject suggestions that Johnson doesn't take women seriously. But then a Con supporting newspaper suggests he can't concentrate if a woman wears a skirt in public.

Not fit to lead whichever way you cut it.

I have long-standing grudge against the Guardian but agree with that article by Andrew Rawnsley. I think there will be a lull but by mid May the writing will be on the wall.
Number 10 will have a choice about the next batch of FPNs - get Johnsons next FPN out in the open pdq and hope it dies down in the week before the local elections or wait to see if something else pops up to dominate the headlines and slip it out then.

I'm impressed that they found as many as 8% of respondents who think that Boris has not lied about parties.

I suppose it is reassuring that @JaniieJones is not totally alone.

Angela Rayner accused by "some Conservative MPs" of having legs and wearing a skirt. Suspected of being a woman and using her womanly wiles to distract our fearsomely intelligent PM at the dispatch box. We really are in the playground. Somebody, please, send in a grown up.

I just saw the BBC report on that. WTF, how pathetic do they want to look? That's really clutching at straws.

For those of you who know *Of Mice and Men' (written in the 1930s!) it reminds me of when George says to Lennie 'well you weren't looking the other way when she was shoving her legs all over the place'.

I mean, Angela Rayner, having legs. Fancy that. And crossing them - well that's just sheer provocation.

Obviously now Johnson has disavowed the MoS piece. However I doubt they'd run it without a nod from Downing Street (and I'd imagine some insiders provided handy quotes).
So he gets to both support and distance himself from it. Weasel.
